The say that with the recession, people are paying less and less for services. Interesting, we have been getting more and more writing projects which is paying higher rates.

We have recently had people paying $1,800, $2,400 $1,000 and now $5,000 for writing.

To say you can't charge higher rates is rubbish.

We keep getting one complaint, and that is our prices are too low. Come the end of the month and our prices are going to be raised. Every time we increase our prices we get bigger projects.

So yes you can charge $2 an article, and work long hours, or you can charge higher rates and get a different class of clients.

    Congrats Bev!

That is fantastic. I think this comes back on us needing to value our own services more. We shouldn't feel guilty about charging more when our work is good!

Bad habits are formed in good times and good habits are formed in bad times.

You will see sloppy operators go under as the market consolidates a little with the better quality providers thriving.

    Bev! You are spot on...

In fact you are so right I have nothing much to say about it...

I have always been an advocate of high quality content and premium pricing.
I learned the concept of premium pricing from Vegas Vince, and experience reinforced my belief... Now you are polishing the structure of belief...LOL

Call all you like but that is a fact and I have emails to prove it. Nothing to do with the time of year, fact is that you can charge higher rates because people are buying.

Do you need the screenshots to prove it, do you need copies of the emails?

Why isn't it apples to apples, we are not talking about ecommerce compared to a service, but services only.

Dave, with all do respect getting emails from raving fans of your products is not uncommon, in fact when I purchased Frank Kern's Mass Control I sent him an email about the price being way too low for what he taught.

The difference is Bev, much like Frank, has taken the time to build brand equity.

I told Steven Wagenheim on a thread here his prices were too low. (His take was that he wanted to give as much back as possible to the WF).

As people build their reputations for reliability and quality of course they can, and should, charge more.

I've seen two of the people here in this thread (Bev and James Schramko) go from way underpricing their products to finding a fair market value and I'm rooting for them all the way.

And they both still do products at accessible prices for newbies.

That's great to hear Bev with your high ticket prices, congrats to you. I would eventually like to break into the high ticket item products myself and davebo, apples or not you and Bev are both correct, there is a market for everyone no matter what pricepoint, kind of neat because there's room for everyone to market their services.

    Cheers.

    Hi Bev,

    Congratulations. Way to go.

You know, with more and more people losing their jobs in the US, Canada, and other parts of the world this is a great time to reach out to more people and help them start their own online business.

We all have a duty to show people our businesses and how they can succeed too. Giving them new hope in life.

Dave we all know that you won't pay high prices for writers and that's your choice, that you think anyone who charges higher prices feel entitiled, again your opinion.

I have no idea why you are so down on writers, why we are the bottom of the barrel in your eyes. But, I have to say that not everybody thinks like you.

If someone else had said they had a $5k day you would have been congratulating them, but because it was from writing that was too hard a pill to swallow.

Some of us don't call ourselves premier writers, but having been a ghostwriter for a top publishing house does make quite a difference.

So using your logic, if you sell 100 products today it doesn't matter because you would of course have a higher pay day than if you sold 50 products. So why bother making any comments in the first place. Should we ban writers, product creators, affiliate marketer, ecommerce from saying they broke a certain barrier because it is exactly the same just that they sold more?

I didn't offer to show my screenshots because even if I did you would say they were fake, I asked if you needed the screenshots and emails to prove it. Big difference.
