Curios thing that just happend to me ....

I was on a thread here on WF, I clicked a sig link of a warrior and up came his site. In the upper right corner there is a banner to a CB product, but it does not seem to be an affiliate link because when I hover over with the mouse in the left down corner I just see http://www.domainname.com.
But here starts the strange thing, I click the banner through the page, then the order link and on the order page my CB nickname is displayed as an affiliate.

How is this possible ?

Any suggestions ?

I think he is using javascript to do this. You can pretend one link is something else this way. So be careful what you click on

My guess, he screwed up his link. He was probably trying to do something clever and it's not working.

Since you probably already have your own clickbank cookie on your computer from looking at your own site, you're getting the credit.

Delete your cookies and see what happens.

Meanwhile they guy is thinking I'm getting traffic, why am I not making any money!!!

I have heard this being discussed somewhere. Here is the score-

If you have a CB product u can use Javascript to read cookies if the visitor has a CB affiliate id. If yes, the product sales is assigned to him/her account.

    Benefit: They get a sale.Get a new affiliate singed-up.

Never seen it working in practice though.

If it works there is a little step that can make it work better- Just add a little message actually making it open that this is what they are doing. Welcome the new affiliate, congratulate on buying and signing-up. Show the comms percentage etc.

    My tuppence.
