Hey guys,

ok got a fitness site, how to get nice abs related...

Now everyone tells me I should be collecting Emails by giving away a free product.

First, how do I collect emails? what program to use? How do I add it to my site?

2nd, how do I give away something free? Do I write something up?

I am so lost. Any help would be AWESOME!

Use any of the email marketing software like aweber, get response or icontact to do this. Go through their guide, you will find how to add this to your site, (basically you need to set up a squeeze page)

You can get rebrandable free reports from the vendors site that you can give away.

But it is better to create your own free report if you plan to establish as an authority in this niche.

    Hope it helps, thanks.

Be careful with what "everyone" is telling you... because once you will have your email list they will tell you that you need something else...then something else...then something else.

    Don't lose your primary focus!

You really should think about creating a list to promote other product and make more sales in the future but building a list is only one piece of your whole business...

You can take a small piece of your actual product and offer it for free as a "bait" (make sure that the content you are giving away is good quality)

You can also take some related plr article and make a short report with them....

To collect email I personally use aweber.com another popular one is getresponse.com

feel free to PM me if you need more assistance

I'll be glad to help you out

    cheers

Free solutions are usually less reliable, go for aweber and give something really awesome for free, could be a PLR but your own product would work better

I'd be willing to bet that this here would be a fantastic report you can edit and put your name on for peanuts.

Edit: I would do a skimmed down version of this as a freebie, and then sell the full report on your site.

If you are serious about long term success, stay away from free auto responders. I use Aweber.com. They are one of the best in email marketing.

I agree with ReachOneMedia. Forget about what everyone is telling you to do. Spend more of your time doing what is working for you to promote your site and yourself.

The key to success is finding what really works for you and do more of it 'daily'. You can always add the email marketing method for your visitors later.

Building an email list is a great way to go, although as others have mentioned, it's not absolutely required. Depends on what your objectives are, and how it fits into your overall plan.

However, if you're unsure what your objectives are, it's a good idea to go ahead and build a list now, because you can always give it up later if it doesn't fit.

There are many technical options for building a list. AWeber and other email marketing services are one way to go. A good way for those who are less technically inclined.

There are also a variety of software applications that can be installed on your website to run an email list as well. While this can be less expensive in the long run, it requires a different type of investment to learn how to install the software, how to upgrade it when necessary, and ensuring that you don't get listed in a blacklist somewhere.

Other than the technical aspects, the process is relatively easy.

      1. Set up a "sales page" which will offer a freebie in exchange for their name and email address.
      2. Set up a "delivery page" where they can download their freebie after confirming their email address.
      3. Set up a "list" in the email marketing software which will collect your subscriber's information, perform email confirmation, and send them to the delivery page.
      4. Get the "form code" (HTML code) from the email marketing software and add it to your sales page.
      That's pretty much it.

There are 2 main things you want to consider when choosing a freebie.
      1. Is it a high-quality offer that will give your new subscribers a positive impression of you?
      2. Does the freebie relate closely to what you will be selling down the road, without being perceived as a replacement for it?
As long as it meets these 2 criteria, you should be good.
