What kind of potential do these two sites have? I'm trying to figure out what direction I need to go in, and looking for you fellow warriors to help me out!

Site #1 - Site 1

Site #2 -Site 2

Thank you so much for your feedback!

If you are new...those aren't bad at all.

I have found simplicity is usually the best. Your sites took a little while to load because of the flash and I use Chrome which is extremely fast.

However, you have plenty of content. That will help in the search engines. Wordpress is also very search engine friendly. You may just want a simple squeeze page that offers something of value for free. Once they sign up, send them to this website. They will then be ready for all the content you have there.

I guess those are website you bought for cheap on eaby or flippa? , let me save you some time and money by telling you this:

i am sorry to say but the main problem of those websites is the fact that they are using PLR articles , and not unique content , you wont have any chance to drive traffic to those sites with duplicate content .

    for example

i took a few lines of words from this page
Learn To Play Guitar Online And Discover Guitar Lesson Tools | Guitar Learning Tips
and search it on google like that

"There are millions of self-taught guitarists. Some have gone on to greatness and worldwide fame. If you sometimes feel that you are just mediocre or even downright awful then you can play guitar online, and it’s never been easier."

this article has been index by google 568 times...

    here is the link:

"There are millions of self-taught guitarists. Some have gone on to greatness and worldwide fame. If you sometimes feel that you are just mediocre or even downright awful then you can play guitar online, and it’s never been easier." - Google Search

Thanks for the feedback, I was actually looking at potentially buying them. Is it hard to take that backbone of a site and add original content to it weekly to drive traffic and monetize? Or should I just scrap the concept completely.

thats good to hear , i advice you to stay away from it , google loves originality - those websites that are being sold a few times a week with the same content and same design wont have much hope to do well on the search results.

don't bother buying those if you haven't already.

You can grab a good theme for 35-40 and build a site that looks just as good and then start out with all original content. You'll end up much better off in the long term.

Cheers from a fellow guitar player!

I don't know what to do, what would you pay for a site like that? Would you pay $50 for one? The theme itself is $49.99 I believe. I'm new to the whole micro-niche marketing and thought this might be a jumpstart to helping me on my way.

If you end up buying the site, make sure the seller has developers license for the theme. Many sellers don't, yet they sell many sites with same theme. If that is the case, then you will have to buy your own license anyway. The theme may not be included in your purchase price.

        Hi Michael,

I wouldn't dismiss the sites completely. As a newbie, it helps to have a backbone to work with. That is what these sites should be. A backbone for you.
Simply modify the look a little bit, maybe change color or layout, and write a few original posts.
Your original posts should be the first ones on the site. Schedule the rest of the PLR posts to publish in intervals, not all at once. Make sure you keep adding original posts at least once a week. This will mix your PLR stuff with original stuff. The beauty of this is that when you can't post you are not stressed out as you know you have some material being posted anyway. If you can, re-write the PLR material.
If you do this, you should be O.k. It's not even hard to ensure you have original material every week, simply sit down and write 5 articles at once and schedule them to go out once a week.
Hope this helps and have fun while you're at it.

        Nina.

those are just niche blogs. the first site's name looks good "guitar learning tips" very apt.

you can target for keywords "guitar learning" and "guitar tips" but make sure you use unique and your own content. Not that's offered free.

    Thanks.

Every site has its own unique potential whether its bought or started from scratch. The main objective is its content and as - liror - has mentioned PLR articles will not work if you want top ranking, those days are gone. On the other hand only original content is the holy grail to top ranking along with strong backlinks, "out with the old and in with the new content".

You can buy the already-made sites and changed its content or start from scratch and go at it slowly. The main thing is fresh original content.

So as a person new to microniche sites, with no wordpress experience, would you buy one of these sites and change the content up (all the affiliate links, amazon shop, adsense, etc is already on page), or start from scratch and develop the site on your own?

      Hi Michael,

IMO the best way of looking at it is what would be the cost to outsource what has already been done, versus buying it ready done and still having to change it to suit.

If either site was done to a point where you literally had to do nothing other than drive traffic and change the codes for the affiliate accounts, then it's probably worth about $50, even with PLR articles, to someone who isn't that competent with Wordpress and would probably end up spending at least 5 hours to get it to the point it is. Even if you scrap the articles and start again, you've still saved yourself precious time, which you could put to better use.

On the other hand, if you

      1) Want to do this on a regular basis and need to learn
      2) Have to make further changes to the site other than adding new articles or
      3) are being charged more than $50

Then I'd probably start from scratch. From my experience

      - A nice custom theme looks good, but generally it doesn't make a big difference as far as Adsense sites are concerned. I'd invest in a framework like Thesis, but keep the design simple. Failing this, you can download free templates that still get the job done - cost $0.

      - Writers are easy to find, and you're better off with 10 strong articles than 100 PLR ones. Go to Elance and add a job for 10 articles. Use a US / UK / AU writer and pay approx $55.

      - If you need to tweak a template, you can go to zeerk or Gigbucks and find someone to set up the blog to your liking. If you need more input, you can try Elance or Guru - cost $25 - $75

      - Both niches are about 5/10 on the competition scale, but be prepared to invest either time or money in getting them to rank. (Personally, I'd buy about ten well placed links (erm ... adverts!) on PR 5 - 7 sites, but this isn't good advice and a very risky strategy).

      - They have a combination of Adsense and Affiliate programs which historically perform poorer than either by themselves. You might want to consider switching entirely to one or the other.

      Hope this helps.

      Justin
