Flippa listing disaster

Need help if possible.

i listed a site on flippa and needed to verify the site so added the meta tags to the themes header like they wanted. no problem as the site got verified.

but now the site looks terrible as the theme is messed up. also my entire dashboard looks different. no plugins listed etc.

what can i do about this? any suggestions? Thanks

You could probably remove the verification tag now that the site has been verified.

I listed my first site on flippa yesterday - I opted to upload a verification file rather than mess with the theme header, just in case.

Just remove remove the verification once your site is listed.

I would rather upload the file so you don't have to mess with the theme.

If you cannot help them why the hell are you posting that. I've seen you do this in other threads and the only thing it appears you are doing is trying to increase your post count. STOP doing that ... your adding no value and the posts you are posting may be considered as spam.

Putting metatags into your theme will not have mess it up. Something else has screwed up. Did you upgrade wordpress? Get hacked?

Don't think i got hacked or upgrade. I simply added the metatags and bam there went most of my dashboard and my site looks terrible.

I did go into my ftp files in hostgator but could not find the meta tag code I put in. I don't remember it. I know I'm a total morron on this project.

It would be great to just pay someone to somehow fix it so I could list the site.

      LOL at me I know

The only thing may happen is during the process of putting the meta tag there and you accidentally delete something or add something that cause that mess.

If you have a webmaster, ask him to take a look for you or someone who is an expert in wordpress will be able to help

Maybe you messed some other code up when you added the meta tag.

It looks like you'll need to manually fix it. FTP to your server, goto "wp-content" folder and then go into "themes". Then go into the folder that is the name of the theme that you're using and look for the file "header.php". That's the file that will usually have all of your header/meta type stuff. Download that file and open/edit it with notepad. You should then be able to see where you entered the meta tag and remove it. Reupload your file and your website should be back up and running.

    Hope you get it fixed.

Hey, have you resolved your problem?

If yes, what do you do so that everyone here can learn?

If no, how do you handle your listing? Has your listing ended?

Love to hear from you on the outcome

Go directly to your wp admin theme editor using this url:

    http://www.yourwebsite.com/wp-admin/theme-editor.php

And open header.php and remove the code

Good suggestion and hope that solve your problem.

Again, you need to know what to remove if you are familiar with html code, then it is easy for you.

I do a copy and paste of the original code and then do the modification.

If I mess up, I can restore it with ease

      Hope this will help
