Hey Warriors,

I'm in need of a script that allows time released content based on when a member signs up. For example..

A signs up on tuesday and gets only week 1.

B signs up on thurday but also only gets week 1. etc etc.

I was gonna use an autoresponder but if the opt-in form get's bookmarked anyone can just hijack the content regardles of being a member or not.

Any suggestions? I don't fancy paying AMember for such a small job that can (if need be) be done with an AR.

I remember the Rhodes-bros talking about this as it goes.. hmm I think I've got that video somewhere, or was it the War-Room?

Anyhoo I look forward to your suggestions.

Thanks,
Louis

I believe the Rhodes way was just using an autoresponder and paypal. As you mentioned, that can open you up to people getting it for free.

Simple Member Pro has the feature your looking for built in. The timed content module works exactly like an autoresponder. You can create unlimited content pages and control when they are released by how many days someone has been a member.

If you set the content for 10 days apart then new content will come available every 10 days. Customers always start on the first content regardless of if they sign up today or next year, just like an autoresponder.

I believe one or two other membership scripts also have similar features, but I will have to leave that to others to discuss. I haven't had an opportunity to look at the other scripts recently so I'm not sure which ones work the same way.

I would build a custom dripfeed script to handle the content release and times. I personally would not use auto-responders.

    Hi Louis,

    What sort of content?

I have a couple of scripts - ContePass and one that I just picked up from Big Mike - EZ Content Manager.

    Hi Louis,

I will PM you with a link for Contepass.

It does time released content by month over 12 or 24 months with a plugin.

If you are looking at weekly EZ Content Manager will do that.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys.

Brian thanks for the link but $500 is way out of my league for this project.

I have E-junkie and was wondering if we could put something together with them and an autoresponder? hmm

e-junkie should work fine. Just put your opt-in form on the thankyou page. It's location is hidden and the page expires too.

I'm seriously considering this model and it seems
that my Reticular Activating System is pointing
everything toward that direction but my question
is, can it really be that simple?

Can creating an income stream be as easy as driving
        traffic, converting customers, then "set it and forget it";
        or am I missing something?

First, I'll preface my comments by stating I'm good friends with someone who has been doing this for a year and is earning over the $3K a month at it. I first broached the subject of this idea with him over a year ago and he's since spun it into multiple memberships, although he's not using a commercial autoresponder service.

If you've ever been a member of more than one content type of membership, then you'll also know what a pain in the ass it is to have to learn how each one works, login periodically to get your content and so forth. Each one sucks a little time out of your working life, which is not very helpful.

And scale is an issue as well - you login and the content isn't ready. You repeat that over a few days until the content is finally there. Then you download it and here's the next problem. You're faced with 30 or 50 or more pages of content you've got to do something with, at an absolute minimum will take about 8 hours or more to do.

So, like most members, you either deploy the content unwritten <-- bad idea, or save it, meaning to come back to it and then never do <- even worse idea.

Now, imagine this - you join a membership where around the same time each day the content you paid for shows up in your email client's inbox, right along with all your other email.

You stop what you're doing, save the content, do a quick re-write and upload it to the site you're using it on. And then you go back to what you're doing. You've spent 10 or 15 minutes at most adding another page of content to your site as part of your normal daily workload.

A small, manageable daily effort is all it takes and you're not feeling overwhelmed. That's a formula for remaining a member indefinitely, which is a side benefit to running this type of membership - his retention rates are incredibly high.

Now let me throw another side benefit into it - this time by not using a comercial autoresponder service. We developed a system called EZ Content Manager, which accomplishes all of this and more.

Since the content you're delivering is already in the database and being sent to members, why not take the next step - publishing the original content on your own site (you're the copyright holder and entitled to do this anyways). Our system automatically publishes your content, allowing you to target Adsense, CPA, Affiliate or your own products as well.

You end up with multiple revenue streams - the recurring membership fees, the sales from traffic driven by your own use of the content and of course offers sent to your membership. How cool is that?

HINT: Check out my signature for the WSO on this system....
            Hi Mike,

We spoke a while back regarding EZ content manager. Does it..

            ?

That's the main problem I face. Of course I can use the autoresponder but alas there's some unethical people that may share the opt-in page.
