PR and Paid Directory Contact Information

I am looking for some guidance on getting the proper Contact information setup for Press Releases (Webwire.com & PRWeb.com) and also, I want to do some paid directory submissions as well which really work best if you have your contact information displayed on the homepage of your site.

My main concern is a phone number. I could definitely get a vanity 800 number, but should I use that number for all of my sites and future sites? (do I need to be worried about a footprint?) Or should each new site have a dedicated phone number.

If anyone could shed some light on what you do or provide some suggestions on how I should proceed, that would be greatly appreciated.

I should mention that these PR's and Directory Submissions won't be for local business websites, but more for affiliate based websites.

Cheers,
Six

Sometimes I'll put the phone number up as an image, as well as the rest of the contact information.

This keeps Google from finding the same number/address on multiple sites and realizing the link between them (I don't know that they take note of this, but I'm being safe).

It also keeps spammers from scraping that information.

The only problem is that I actually like to let Google see the info for SEO purposes, especially with a local business.
