Google is killing affiliates?

Hi warriors,

As i see, google is moving more and more his own affiliate program of the top of the serps. For example:xbox 360 wireless adapter,

Traffic of many of my product affiliates sites dropped, and i did a search, see google puts more and more pf its own affiliate to the top, which is more attractive with pics in the serps.

How do you see this problem?

  • This is funny, but I think it makes sense. Maybe I'd do the same if I'm google.
  • Well Google have publicly stated that they don't like affiliates, but there is a right way to do it and obviously people are still able to rank affiliate sites successfully. So there's probably another reason why your site is falling... Google dance?

    The pictures that you see are nothing to do with an affiliate program and Google isn't compensated for sales of those products... it's the Google shopping feed which is a free feature for sellers.

    Again, it all really comes down to user experience.
  • They definitely want to weed out low quality affiliates, and who can blame them. Those shopping pictures aren't really a blatant attempt though, they've been in the top of the serps for a long time and can pretty easily be beaten.
  • I guess you cant blame google for doing this.

    If your blog or site is of high quality with quality backlinks google will rank it well wehether your an affiliate site or not.

    I guess they wanna weed out all the back link blasters and sudden search in one way link sites that there spiders dont pick up before ranking them high.
