Help Needed! How Do I Control Access to Different Areas in a SMF Forum?

I'd like to have a SMF or similar forum with unrestricted access to some areas and other areas limited to "members only".

Could anyone help me figure out how to do this?

Thanks,
Steve

      G`day Steve,

as far as I know all the settings are in the Admin (SMF) ... I haven`t
set one up for awhile but I know for sure I "restricted" some areas
as you want to do ... need more help let me know.

    Christopher,

I've been all through that and can't see how to limit access to discussions.

    Thanks,

Check with Keith Boisvert, a member here...her runs Localbizbuilders.com, and he uses SMF....he has a private section like you describe. so he knows how to do it.....

    Heya Steve

Look at the menu of the left in your "Admin" panel.

    Click on "Permissions" (under "Members")

Across the top you'll see "Permissions by Board"

That should be what you're looking for.

    Best of luck with it!
