Ok...

I'm looking at starting an Affiliate Network for some LOCAL products (physical in nature)...

By biz partner and I don't want to go through CJ or Linkshare...as we want to have full control over operations...

We need:

>Software that will allow us to build Affil tracking codes

>a method of gaining Affiliates who want to promote these products....

Any idea's where to start???

  • I too am looking for affiliates, can anyone help?
  • Idevdirect is one of the most popular softwares out there. many web hosting companies use it.
  • same doubts, this seems to be good citizen
  • still looking for a good affiliates, anyone thanks
  • Both of you are trying clickbank affiliate marketing.
  • my comment is based on personal experience...

I once had the same (stupid) idea...
bought expensive aff software, spent days and weeks to set up everything and then months to attract affiliates...I ended up with 3 affiliates. I approached a lot of "super affiliates" and the answer was always the same:

    1. How do we know that we can trust you
    2. We dont want to deal with another tracking system or another stat system

Doing that when you're a well-known vendor with a longstanding successful track-record of having affiliates is one thing.

Doing it "de novo" is quite another.

What you see as "having full control over operations", the serious, successful, potential affiliates who are doing this for a living (i.e. the ones you most want) see as "being dependent on an unknown vendor to get paid".

And that's exactly why many of us prefer Clickbank. This makes sense, surely?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • You need to build some rep to bet people to trust you running your own program.

As for software, you can try the tipsandtrickshq.com wordpress plugin, or JROX Jam or Jem.

      Thanks for sharing it.
  • Well, I know you want to have more control of your own products, but affiliate tracking is always an issue for affiliates to trust and to promote your products or client products.

How do they know if your tracking is right?
