I still don't get why FaceBook is so popular. I use it every day for business, but I absolutely loathe it.

Facebook is one of the easiest and best ways to keep in touch with friends and family. THAT is why its so popular. It's easier and quicker than email. It's easy to keep tabs on what is going on in your friends and families life.

For those who value privacy, however, Facebook is their worst enemy.

That's it right there. It's the most invasive social network on the face of the planet.

They most definitely will not get $100 million for it. And if they do then the sales team gets an award and the buyer gets labeled a sucker.

I'm not sure what can be done to "fix" MySpace. It's become a portal for teenagers and spam. Now with the advent of Facebook Fan pages allowing iframes I don't see MySpace holding onto its small market share for much longer.

If all else fails I would turn it into a video sharing site. Seems to be plenty of those around these days...

MySpace has a mailing list bigger than any that we could ever dream of having. I'm pretty sure that they can make something out of it.

You are right in them having a big list, but how many of those emails still work today? I would say just like the users myspace profiles, many of those emails no longer work or haven't been checked in years. I know the account I used to sign up for MySpace back in 2006 hasn't been checked in a really, really long time.

MySpace is probably the biggest colossal (I know it is redundant) failure since the tech bust of 2001.

One word comes to mind when I hear the word "MySpace"...

    Wow.

A makeover will do it for myspace. They have the members. All they need to do is make the website for interesting by adding new features and change the look and feel totally.

I agree Afam, but how many times and how long are they just going to sit in the mud and splash around?

There's talk of VEVO buying them out...

The music side of myspace has been the reason for most of theirs visitors over the last few years, so turning into a music based social network could turn out to be a good move.

I kinda still remember when good ole "Imeem" (I dont know if you still remember them?) -music streaming site was bought by Myspace. I still believe that they can do a make-over. Perhaps become music site just like what Imeem has been before.

      And who buys it?

Well, i think that they must focus on a makeover with urgency if they want to stay in business and "try" to compete with the giant Facebook.
