Where can I find graphics for my ebook?

Hi there,

I have started to put together one of my first ever ebooks and I'm excited to say that all is going according to plan. I am a bit confused on one thing though. Do I have to purchase all of the graphics that I choose to put in my ebook or can I just use what I can find on google images.

I'm a bit reluctant to use just any image as im afraid it might come back and bite me in the behind one day as i wouldn't have the ''Rights'' to that particular image or photo.:confused:

I have signed up to istock photos and even thought they have a great selection of images, photos, videos etc I find that it can be a little on the expensive side. If I was to buy one picture/image it could cost 5 credits at .75c a credit. Is that too expensive or would that be the going rate?

I have tried searching some other threads for answers but cannot seem to find what I am looking for.

Any help would be welcome,

Donna, try iStockPhotos, there are plenty you can get at 1 or 2 credits.. That's where I get most of my graphics. DON'T just use a Google images pic! You could wake up one day with a large bill in your mailbox.

Donna,
Congrats on making the ebook, I hope it goes well! If you google search "stock photos" you'll be able to find a ton of different places that you can purchase stock photos from. If you want an image or two that are a little more creative with your own twists, you can always outsource that! I have use istockphoto.

#1 Yes

You need to buy your graphics. Also, you need to buy the extended license which I suspect most people don't do. Read the license terms.

#2 No

Unless you think it's OK for me to copy the text in your ebook and post it on my blog.

Running a business properly has it's costs.

I use the Stock.Xchng website. The graphics are free, but the creators usually want to know where they are being used. You also cannot resale the images.

You are doing a great job, i really appreciate your business. To published your book on eBook you needn't to purchase all graphics, you visit different site of Google and try to find your desirable stuff, i hope you will be success.

do a search in the WSO forum. There are plenty of cheap desitners. check fiverr too. get one for $5

  Woah. Don't use random images of Google Images.
  
  For iStockPhoto you can use the smaller sizes of the same image and pay less credits. For an e-book you don't need large images anyway.

Here Donna, a lot of people might not know this one.

But you don't have to worry about copyright problems when you use this one.
