Funniest reasons for refund requests.

Lol here's something to laugh about.

I just got a refund request on Clickbank right now, and was given the following reason:

"Unauthorized family member made the purchase."

Lol I'm assuming some kid stole his mom/dad's credit card and got found out.

Anyone have anything more funny/bizarre I'd like to hear it :p

That is very funny!! I hope they didn't just prevent their kid from being the next super teenage guru - they have no idea how many there are!!!
Or maybe....it's a disgruntled spouse - sick of waiting for his/her partner to "make it" ....he! he!

The sad case is for product owner, think it's best to just "entertain" the refund irregardless of whatever reason given by consumer.

It's best to get it done and over and proceed with normal biz. Barking on another refund issue may not worth the time and effort ... especially when most IM products include money back.

Well my product is actually in a branch of the weight-loss niche, which leaves this refund request open to a whole different class of jokes.

In response to williamtan. Well advised. I don't ever dispute refund requests. I believe in empowering my customers and I make it clear on my salespage that they can get a refund for any reason or no reason at all. It's what I would want as a customer.

Yes, it's really funny! Who is interesting in this topic can even build a website funnyrefundreasons.com or something like that. It'll attract a lot of traffic, I'm sure:-)

I got a request from a lady saying she wanted a refund because she didn't have a zip drive and my program I sent her was in a zip file. I didn't even argue, I sent her refund!

That saved you a whole truckload of trouble, I guarantee you!

Does anyone even use zip drives anymore? I mean you can get ten times the data on a much cheaper USB flash drive.

One product that I sll includes the word "demon" in it...heck it is part of the web page title. Anyway has nothing to do with demons of any kind. Well I got this refund saying that they were Christians and could not use a product with demon in the title. Of course I refunded it, but it's not like I was hiding the product name. The funny thing is another guy I know had the very same thing happen to him. Always wondered if it was the same guy asking for a refund

Haha..these are ridiculous. Well who can say NO to that? You don't want to come off as the demon who doesn't want to give a refund.

I don't get many refund requests - but if I do it's mostly because of tech issues. I sell a 97 video course, which is clearly marked as a video course, all the launch mails include videos, etc. Well, recently i got an email from somebody saying they bought the course and now realize it's all videos and they won't be able to watch it on their dial up connection.

Usually I just refund the money no questions asked - it's actually my policy - but i couldn't find the transaction so I emailed the guy back and also asked him how he watched the launch videos then. turns out he goes to the library for fast access. Simply wrote him back asking why he didn't just download the videos to a USB stick at the library to watch the course at home. It's like a lightbulb switched on in his head - 97$ not refunded and a super grateful customer ;-)

Cool reason to ask for refund. Unauthorized family member

Unfortunately all my "family members" are authorized so I shall not have such great reasons ever to ask for refunds ...

lol a large portion of my refund requests are also based on technical issues.

Customer: "oh, I couldn't download the file can I get a refund"
Me: "Sorry to hear you're experiencing difficulties. I'll be more than happy to give you a full refund, but I could always send you a copy of the book via email"
Customer: "Ummm... can I just have the refund?"

Now now let's not discriminate against Charles based on his looks. I'm sure it was just a problem with the camera angle.

Lol what really makes ME laugh celente is that they feel they have to be creative in their justification in order to get a refund, whereas all they have to do is say: "I didn't like the product".

Lol you should offer to send them a copy of the book where you simply edit the word 'demon' to 'angel'

Nice. In my experience customers that request a refund for technical difficulties usually just want a refund and are probably fibbing about the technical difficulties. Even when I offer them a solution they still just want the refund. It's good to see this example you gave was different.

Customers with genuine technical difficulties don't ask me for a refund, but since they really want the product they'll ask me to fix the issue.

I got one one from someone who said they were testing their affiliate link and accidentally put their credit card detail in. After they were refunded, they found another product of mine and did exactly the same thing.

I love it when people say they "accidentally put their credit card detail in", how can it be an accident if you intentionally enter the credit card number?
