If you have budget than use paid advertising..

If you don't budget than use FREE marketing...

    I hope you understand...

lol @ peeps that do this....

But to answer your question which everyone seems to be avoiding...

The top three ways to drive traffic to a site:

        1. SEO
        2. Article Marketing
        3. Video Marketing

Other popular ways to drive traffic

        -Forum Marketing
        -Twitter
        -Facebook
        -Solo Ads/Ad Swaps
        -Offer a WSO
        -Bookmarking
        -Rss Feed Submissions
-pdf submissions (to free ebook/document sites)
        -Submitting podcasts

Of course this is just my opinion, and the results will vary from niche to niche.

        Hope this helps

I'm all about SEO and article marketing at the moment. I also did some paid advertising on backpage that was super cheap and brought a decent amount of traffic in.

OK this is what I do..

Since it is a new site I would start off by social bookmarking...don't do it all in the same day though. Spread it out slowly for the first week or so and make sure to target your inner pages as well.

Next, find high pr blog pages to comment on. Not domain pr, I'm talking about actual pages. The fewer OBL the better.
TIP: Always try to use as many unique domains as possible. This is key!

After you've started this, do a double-pass of forum links. Again, don't get carried away..slow and steady is the name of the game. I only use 1 link per profile. Again, use all unique domains.

Then, after a month or so I'll start using Unique Article Wizard. You can outsource this for cheap. However, if your niche is not that competitive, just submit a couple articles a week to the top directories.

During this same time I always like to build a 2 or 3 tier web 2.0 network along with video submissions. And always build backlinks to your web 2.0 properties.

Finally, after 2-3 months if my site is converting but I'm still not at the top of google I will try to find a high pr homepage network to submit my main kw to. However, if my site doesn't convert I will re evaluate my ste including content etc...or move on to another niche.

TIP: Also make sure you find a method to get every single backlink you create indexed or all of that hard work will be for nothing!

            Hope that helps a bit!

            Cheers!

Jan, can you edit your post to get rid of that knuckleheads link within your reply? I'd hate to have him afforded any residual benefit from having spammed the forum for the entire day.

        Cheers!

I would do some on site SEO. As well as start building backlinks to your site, a good place to outsource this kind of stuff for really cheap is on Fiverr.com. Another great way of getting traffic is article marketing as some have mentioned before, just be sure to do some keyword research and base your articles on that. PM me if you have any questions.

    Article marketing

Submit 5 a day with directory of ezines (If you have the time and if you are a good writer)

Comment on blog posts that are in your niche..for example go to google and type in

"your nuche +blog) and look at the top 20 results. Make a comment that is genuine and somewhat helpful. Don't be an obvious spammer

Facebook - Create a fan page (Try to learn everything you can about facebook)

Facebook should possibly have 1 billion people in the next couple of years or less

    Twitter..Learn this tool as well

Try this every day for a month and start over and do it again. When you have enough material out there, you will see the traffic

    Video marketing - HUGE now
Also, use google analytics or Histats to measure your traffic

if you don't have a budget, do blog commenting,be active on forum, social bookmrking, submit articles with your website url on it. Fastest way to drive traffic is to pay for advertising. It will take time and a lot of effort to be successful on it and lot's of analysis
