Which cover is more striking? Nazi Colors?!?!

I like the conceptual idea in cover 2, but it's not as clear or blended aswell as cover 1. Cover 1 looks better in the sense the graphics are clearer and put to better use design wise.

#1 is better because including people makes your potential customers trust you more, including a depth effect attracts peoples eyes. Go with #1 people will be naturally more attracted to it.

Neither one for me - the first one doesn't really tell me much about what it is your marketing. It looks nicely done, however there's too much going on and I think it needs to be made a bit more clearer

I like the overall design of cover #1, but I don't really like the photo either. I think you might have chosen the photo to portray someone looking 'concerned' about the recession. I might take a different approach and show someone who had experienced the outcome of your book - happiness, relief, etc.

I read the choices above and felt tempted to change my mind (cover being the fav) but I am going to go with my gut and say cover 2.

It stood out to me more than cover 1, which I think was too busy.

Personally I like either 1 or 3.

However, do you plan on using this graphic on your sales page? If so then no matter what the 20 or so replies you will receive from this thread may tell you you must test them yourself and see which gives you the higher conversion.

Just because a handful of warriors like style 1, that doesn't necessarily mean that style 4 can't have a greater increase on your conversion.

I am often saying

"Test and you shall receive"

In fact I have it stuck on a note next to my computer, because a great deal of time when I have a question about something, the only way I can get the definitive answer is by testing it.

I Will split test the graphics- of course!

BUT... because I want the site to have the same feel as the ebook, and don't think (or maybe i'm wrong?) i should design the entire website four different ways to match each ebook.....

I need to figure out which one to match "mostly" with.

hmm.. thanks for all the feedback.

I just realized- the reason WHY the graphics seem better in cover one is because i had the photo FIRST- and then created the ecover (red and black) to match the photo.

the rest of the covers were changing the picture and layout- but the COLORS of the ebook don't have any mental affiliation with the picture.

does that make sense? i think i just taught myself something very very important about marketing that i didn't know before.

I would choose #3 because..

1)The look on the face of that man show the hardship that most people will face during recession.

2)The word "survive" is the most popular words used during recession.There's an association there.Human mind is trained to think of hardship,poverty,bankruptcy,death and business loss during the recession when the word SURVIVE is used.So certainly it will stir fear and a sense of urgency to grab your book

As a Web Graphic Artist, I'd go with style 5. Just make sure whichever one you choose is sharp enough to read the cover clearly...

Use the #1 sample, but with some modifications.

Remove the existing seal and replace it with the seal from sample #5, because "Powerful" stands out better.

Change the sub-heading text color to gold like in sample #5.

I would move the author name, in white to the bottom, like it is in sample #2.

I think I would also bold the title in sample #1 as well.

#2 for me.

It's the only one that matches and promotes the content of the book. Well I'm assuming that, since you didn't give us Warriors free access to the content of your book.

The rest of the covers look good, some even great, but when it comes down to the cold light of day and a potential customer is faced with the decision of whether or not to buy - only #2 would get me to click - you take PayPal I hope!

Yep, I'm in the minority on this, I know.

Number one, but change the subtitle at the bottom. Start the sentence with action instead of the overused (yet admittedly still effective) "How To".

"Use The Recession To Change Your Financial Life"

Also, I would think you would want someone looking confident and maybe even a little smug...like the guy in sample one. If you use a defeated looking guy, you're conveying defeat rather than changing your life for the better. The guy in number three looks beaten by the recession, rather than empowered by it.

And maybe get rid of the dollar signs in the portrait. Looks like a shoe-horned after-thought for some reason. I think the title and subtitle do enough to get your idea across...that and the at-ease look on the guy's face.

Now that you mention that... I have to agree. The defeated, unemployed banker wouldn't be a good image to use.

I didn't mention anything about the dollar signs before... but they kind of look out of place.

Overall number 5 is probably the best.

TBH, I'm not keen on any of the covers.

Sorry for being honest, but I wouldn't buy the product that uses any of the covers.

I can't put my finger on the reason why at the moment, just my first reaction told me that the covers wouldn't inspire me to buy.

I'd definitely skip covers 3 and 4...they have a negative aspect to them. You don't want to spotlight people who are broke and frustrated. You want to show them a success story, show them what they have to gain by buying your product. That's why dating sites don't show lonely, heartbroken people on their home page. They show happy couples with big smiles...implying you will be happy like them if you sign up.

I don't know if anyone already said this, because I didn't read all the replies.

But...

I don't like any of them.

They're too depressing and depict hard times which will fester negative feelings. I'd focus on capturing the joy of someone who is thriving during the recession.

Nothing flasy like money as toilet paper or bon fire kindling. As that'll lead to resentment.

Perhaps just a guy with his wife (or vice versa) outside a high end store. And show him subtly pulling a money clip from his pocket. Perhaps the wife looks elated and is hugging her hubby. And also in the shot is a nice formal dress, or pair of designer shoes, or purse, or something in the window.

Or go with the family scene outside a toy store.

Something that portrays an average looking guy (or gal) providing for his (or her) family.

My vote is # 5 -- the guy looks like a go-getter, the title is telling me that not only will I survive, but I'll "thrive" under recession; everything, even the word "powerful" says "let's get down to business and make some money."

I prefer #2. I, personally, find the guy on 1 and 5 to be very unstrustworthy. I have to agree with an earlier poster who said he looked sinister. Between the smarmy expression on his face, the dark shading on his profile and the way his fingers appear to be steepled in front of him, I get a very bad Donald Trump/Doctor Evil vibe. It leads me to think negetively about your possible strategies. It makes me wonder if you are going to teach me to swindle people out of their retirement funds or steal from the blind [exaggeration for emphasis].

Whereas #2 is obvious. You are squeezing as much as you can out of your money. Got it.
