How valuable are repeated BackLinks in you Signature to the same Site /Forum over and over again ?

I have around 50 or 60 do follow blogs/ Forums that I post on weekly. In the Signatures I have anchored Backlinks. I was wondering if I post to the same forums / blogs on a weekly basis will Google and others still give value to those backlinks even though they are from the same site over and over again ??
Or does the value begin to diminish until they are almost worthless if you keep continually going to the same Forums/Blogs and posting with anchored backlinks in Sig ??

Thanks

I think this also applies to people who submit to the same article directories over and over.

I'd be interested to hear people's thoughts on this!

hmm interesting thoughts, it would appear to be penalizing but I am not positive. Would love to hear thoughts on this.

Having many backlinks to the same site will not get you penalized, the only thing that happens is that not all links are counted.

Let's say you have 1000 posts at warrior forum, then google might just simply say: aha, warrior forum links to that site, but ignore the number of backlinks.

One thing to consider is that threads move away from the main pages. Thus posting more often might keep your sig on the most prominent pages of the forum domain. Not sure though if it's important.

Make sure to use different anchor text in different forums, it looks more natural. You could even deeplink to different pages on the same site in different forums.

In forums, I'd venture to guess that they deminish pretty quickly.

If the blog post itself is well SEO optimized, you'll continue to get traffic to the post and therefore to the links. Why? Because people will do a search on Google and continually end up on the blog post.

However, if the only source of traffic to the blog post is people from the blog, the traffic will die down pretty quick.

    My 2 cents

It won't hurt you, but I believe there are diminishing returns in regards the backlinks helping your search engine rankings. An individual post or page that gains some PageRank may continue to help with rankings, but additional links in the signature probably won't boost your rankings very much.

You should get alot of direct click-throughs from your signatures though (assuming they're helpful and on topic)! It all depends on your goals.

    thanks,

On forums that are SEO optimized, you may lose value of total backlinks but still credit for a backlink, while still being counted as multiple backlinks... if that makes sense.

On blogs you get as many backlinks as comments that you post that remain dofollow links, but as far as the PR goes, you are in competition with the rest of the commenters. So for example if a blog has 100 comments to 100 different sites... and there are no other outgoing external links... then your 1 comment would get 1% of that sites PR passed to your site.

But in either case, forums or blogs... if a user searches for something and that post or thread happens to have good keyword rich content and is ranked well, your comment or signature link can still benefit from that traffic.

I still get traffic from old posts that I made well over a year ago on Digital Point.
