RIP: Bev Clement

I just received this sad news from Rob Clement:

Bev Clement passed away at approximately 3:00 p.m. (GMT) on Sunday April 3rd. Mothering Sunday in the UK. It was peaceful and quiet passing.

I spoke almost daily with Bev via Skype recently. My last conversation was March 27.

I grieve bitterly for the loss of my friend.

Vince Runza

P.S. I'll be posting a eulogy in the Off Topic forum soon.

P.P.S. I got this email from Rob Clement:

Vince

I was not intending to have flowers at the funeral. I was intending sending the money to cancer research so that others can be spared at least some of this pain.

Also for those that want we are looking into recording the thanks giving service for her life and putting it on our church website. This will be of more relevance to those who knew Bev well.

P.P.P.S.
Some of you already know but for those who do not:

Beverley Clement
21/01/1957 – 03/04/2011
After a battle with pancreatic cancer
Rev 20:11 Her “tears wiped away … no more pain”

Funeral service
Thursday April 14th 2011
2:00 p.m. At Swansea Crematorium (Morriston)
3:00 p.m. A service of thanksgiving for her life
Elim City Temple, Dyfatty Street, Swansea
It is planned to digitally record the service of thanksgiving and make it available on the web for those who cannot come.

I'm so very sorry to hear this, although I realise it was expected news today.

I send warm condolences to all her dear family.

    • I didn't know Bev as well as many other Warriors on here, but I was subscribed to her list and did exchange a few e-mails with her.

I've actually still got her e-mails in my inbox — I read them earlier today after seeing the other thread — a very smart, bright lady who will be missed.

      RIP Bev.
    • I never knew her, but I've been reading all the posts and she sounded like an amazing person. For someone to stand out on a forum that has 8,000 people on-line at almost any given time of the day, takes a special person. So sad when something like this happens. RIP Bev.
  • Heart broken. I followed her contributions here. Very sad day and I hope her family is coping as well as can be expected. May she rest in peace.

    • Terrible news.

      Very sorry to hear that.

My warm condolences to her family.
  • My condolences to the family. Bev was a great friend and supporter since the days I published a physical newsletter. She will be greatly missed.
  • I'm sad, troubled, and remorseful.

It's hard to believe Bev is dead.

My first interaction with Bev was on Rosalind Gardner's forum where she went by the screen name Boysbach -- circa 2005 or 2006.

She and I didn't seem to agree about much, and we had our fair share of spirited debates about various things.

I'll remember Bev as someone who really seemed to care.

I'll remember Bev as someone who was genuinely decent and good hearted.

I'll remember Bev as someone who tried to protect the vulnerable and less experienced amongst us.

More than anything else... I'll remember Bev as being someone who was well liked and appreciated by so many people.

God speed Bev, and I really do hope we'll meet again someday.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks

    • For those of you that don't speak Welsh, Boysbach means "wee thing".
  • Blessings from God showering upon all as one more Angel rises to stand near his throne may his will be done in this world and the next.

Remember those special times touched Bev's spirit and remember the flesh is a moment but the spirit is eternal.

    • I was very shocked and upset to read the heading and the op.

I only had scant personal email contact with Bev from time to time over a period of years. The last time was when she informed me that she had arrived back to live in Wales. I suggested that we might meet and set up or join a mastermind group.

Alas it was not to be.

Bev was a great Warrior who spoke her mind and yet went out of her way to help others. There can be no testimony to anyone, better than that.

My deepest sympathy to Rob, the family and close friends.

      Jeff.

  • I grieve for the loss of a fine lady. I treasure the small time I was privileged to spend in her company when she and Rob were last in the USA. The picture you see on her Facebook page....I cropped me out of the picture so she'd use a more recent one on her profile. LOL. She REALLY didn't like her picture taken but I talked her into it. She and Rob were a joy to be around. I had spoken to her a couple of times via skype and IM the past year. I so hoped not to hear this news. My heart breaks for Rob and the rest of her family. Sending love and prayers.

  • If I could just say this about Bev Clement...

She made a REAL DIFFERENCE in this business for so many thousands of people who somehow found themselves here on this forum, trying to sort and make sense of the overwhelming.

Bev Clement was unequivocally one of the good guys.

Here was a woman who encouraged, supported and fought ferociously on behalf of those too inexperienced or maybe just too idealistic to know the lengths some will go to deceive and take advantage of others.

Oh how she delighted in snatching victory from their claws time and time again. And she was damned good at it.

    Bev was a rare gem.

It's a very, very sad day for the Warrior Forum today.

    RIP

  • I'm speechless.

Couple of minutes ago I was trying to find out who Bev Clement was as I had just read the thread started thing morning about her being sick and after finding out a little bit about here I come here and this.

    • This proves what kind of person Bev was.....I wrote an ebook about eBay and she purchased it and then said it wasn't written well. so, of course me my ego took offense and gave her her money back.

She wrote an ebook and I purchased it just so I could tell her what was wrong with it...bad part was, I couldn't find one damn thing wrong with it.

Bev said hey Charles, I will help you with your ebook it needs rewritten...and she did, she spent many hours editing, rewriting and making my book better.

What did she get out of all that she did for me? Nothing, just knowing she helped someone. You don't find people like that very often! It truly is a sad day for the Warriors and this forum!

    • Yesterday, I had no words. Today, I have a few.

      Life is so unfair.

Bev was one of the few people who welcomed me when I first got here,
deservedly so as I made a real jackass of myself on day one.

But she gave me a chance. She asked others to do the same. But she also
warned me to behave or else. That was Bev.

That's not something you can ever forget.

She offered her help to me many times throughout the years. She saw how
frustrated I got at times. And even though I was too stubborn and proud
to accept it, she never gave up on me and kept offering...even when I
      acted like a total ass.

Bev was one hell of a class act. Tough at times, but fair and giving to all.

She watched over this place like a hawk. I can't count the number of
scammers she exposed over the years that she was here.

I wish I had one last time to tell her how much I appreciated her.

Somehow, today, I have to find a way to do the work that I need to do,
even though what I feel like doing is putting my fist through a wall.

Bev, whether you know it or not, you're the reason that I'm still here
      today.

      Yeah...life is so unfair.

  • Very sad news

Bev welcomed me here in the Warrior Forum with open arms.

She was a protector of people. When ever she noticed some thing wrong she would
check it out and 99.99% of the time she was right in her observations and research.

She saved more Warriors from being scammed than we can even realize.

She will be dearly missed by myself and many others not only here but in every forum,

She was more than just that though. I was talking to my wife last night and was saying how crazy it is to feel so sad about a person I never met face-to-face. But, my wife was quick to remind me that even though we never met face-to-face we were still friends.

    May she rest in peace.

  • I am deeply saddened by this news... I spoke with her recently over Skype and she sounded better than I had heard sound for a long time. She told me that she was feeling better but she had re-started chemo.

This is so sad. She will be missed but her memory will live on. Rest in Peace my friend.

For those that are attempting to donate and receiving 404 errors, her husband, Rob, has contacted me via Skype and I will be working with him to see if we can get the issue resolved.
  • Unfortunately, I never knew Bev on a personal level or even a business level however I did know she was a well respected member of the Warrior Forum, I wish Rob and the family my support and condolences. I hope you can all be strong in getting through such a tough period of time.

    Best wishes.
  • So sorry to hear the news. As mentioned hundreds of times, Bev was always willing to help and look out for all of us. She will be missed.

  • How sad to hear news like this....

Bev was so generous with her time and knowledge. I kept every email from her going back almost 3 years. She was one of those truly 'special' people.

  • She gave me my first and only infraction when I didn't know affiliate links weren't allowed. I realized after a while I should not be annoyed but she was just helping me out to know the rules.

    Very sad news.

Suggestion, on another forum I used to frequent if a frequent poster died when you visited their profile page you would see "Rest in Peace" or "R.I.P." under their name where their member description is, for instance right now Bev's says "Writer." Would be a nice touch, here. Just a thought.
  • RIP Bev

  • I hadn't been on the WF for a while, and I just found out this news....

I remember several times that she would call out scam artists, and I know at least one time that her posts kept me from making a financial blunder.

RIP, Bev. My prayers go towards Rob and her family.
  • Wow, just logged on today and read the news about her passing. That is so sad to hear. I wish Rob well. Godspeed.
  • Rob Clement sent me this via email:

    Vince

I was not intending to have flowers at the funeral. I was intending sending the money to cancer research so that others can be spared at least some of this pain.

Also for those that want we are looking into recording the thanks giving service for her life and putting it on our church website. This will be of more relevance to those who knew Bev well.

    • Hi Vince,

Thanks for posting this info. from Rob.

Will you be able to post the Church website link once the service is recorded?

      Thanks.

    • Thanks for posting this message from Rob.

Please tell Rob to keep my donation for himself in this difficult time, to do something for himself with the money. That is how I intended it. If he wants us to donate to a particular cancer charity, I can also donate to that in Bev's memory, if I know the name of the charity he prefers. Wishing him strength to get through these difficult days.
  • Bev was one of the rare people with a true heart for missions. This carried across in almost everything she did.

She was always quick to help others, even when in the middle of tremendous personal difficulties.

Rob, we were blessed to have Bev in our community.

I look forward to the day when we'll finally meet face to face.

  • i'm sorry to hear that

    miss you here
  • I didn't know Bev, but apparently many of you did - my condolences to all.

I did have the painful privilege of offering the sermon at my grandmother's funeral, and many others certainly.

She and a few others brought to mind Proverbs 31. I leave it to the reader to look it up. It is well worth the read.

There are many appropriate passages in Scripture, but, in solidarity with our Lord when He lost a good friend (Lazarus) - as many have here - feel free to express your love for her as Jesus did for His friend... John 11:36 ("Jesus wept.")

And, in the midst of the tears, let your smiles come through as well, for the privilege of having known someone who touched your life as she apparently has.

Hopefully, you'll see each other again :-)

    Your friend in Christ,

    Rev. Hal Humhpries

  • Its been a month since we lost Bev. Rob is coping the best he can and sent an update today. Bev's mom estate has been settled so he can now close it out and start on Bevs - I wish him the best since it must be hard to relive this. He did say there were some technical glitches with recording the service but they are working on them and will have it online asap. He also included some great photos of Bev and their wedding - I'll share one here.

We miss you Bev and we're here for you Rob!

    • Thanks Jack for posting the update.

I too have been talking with Rob. He said there are a lot of loose ends to deal with. Bev managed all the websites they were running and the registrations for those sites are now expiring so I've been trying to help him sort out how to go about determining if keeping those sites active is viable.

Rob has a lot on his plate emotionally, I've been trying to encourage him to come on over here to the Warrior Forum so he can build some friendships and do some networking. Hope he takes me up on the idea.
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Wow, shocked to hear the news. My condolences to Bev's family. May she rest in peace.

    • Firstly my thanks to everyone who has replied and responded to this thread. I have been overwhelmed by the responses

I must apologise that I haven't posted the link to the Thanksgiving service. We lost the last 35 minutes of the service due to a technical problem. I am trying to get the rest sorted out and will let everyone know as soon as possible.

As you see I have now joined the forum and will try and catch up. This was always Bev's baby and she would often come to the end of the day with stories of this one and and that one. Sometimes she would ask me to look at a technical question for someone and I hope to continue with that.

This week two totally unconnected people have encouraged me to look at going into ghostwriting again and that is why I am here.

Good news. I had a clean bill of health from the doctor this week. Cholesterol level, kidney function, liver function, and blood pressure are all good. The only problem I have is a trapped nerve due to bad posture when I use the computers. So if you have neck, or wrist pain, or numbness in your fingers ask the doctor and look into the ergonomics of your workspace.

      Thanks

      Rob Clement

  • From the very first time I connected with Bev (when she and Rob were living in Hong Kong) she gave me support and mentorship. Our last Skype conversation was on March 11 - she was still revealing opportunities to me.

I'd spoken to her about doing a 'brain dump' - she had a wealth of knowledge to share, which would have been a great legacy. Sadly, she did not have the strength.

How fortunate are we who had the opportunity to learn from her.
  • This is indeed tragic news, Bev has always been a valued member of this forum and an inspiration to many other Warriors. She will truly be missed.

My thoughts are with her family and friends.

  • I know she'd stopped her online marketing endeavors some time ago due to the health problems...

I just received this sad news from Rob Clement: Bev Clement passed away at approximately 3:00 p.m. (GMT) on Sunday April 3rd. Mothering Sunday in the UK. It was peaceful and quiet passing.
