1. Article marketing
2. Forum posting
3. Blog commenting
4. Directory Submission
5. Search engine submissions.

All have the name of SEO (Search Engine Optimization).

I use all these stuffs. But I have seen that article marketing isn't the best for me. But if you would like to submit, hubpages works because it easily deleted post if there is similar content.

Traffic generation can be done via SEO or we can drive traffic on any website by doing social media marketing. You can also use Twitter as a best traffic generation tool.

all of the above are spot on but also as stated above its more about quality - you'll see this if you get a crappy article accepted by an article directory (yep it happens) very few people will download it but if you have a quality one you'll see the difference

Solo-Ads "cost money". Generally, you can expect to
pay $40 to several hundred to do a blast to a GOOD
list.

If you know EXACTLY who your targeted audience is,
this is the FASTEST and in my opinion, the BEST way
to drive traffic ASSUMING your purpose is to build a
list in the first place...

and I would hope my assumption is right.

Articles are GREAT for traffic generation. And, when I
say articles I also mean document sharing sites, too.

They WORK. Even if you send traffic straight to sales
page (which I don't recommend regardless HOW well
it works, always capture lead information FIRST!)

Forums (like this one) are pretty good.

It's "slow" depending on the forum and what advertis-
ment options they offer.

Personally, I don't look to forums for traffic. To me it's
just icing on the cake. However...

there are a few people (not so smart) who rely totally
on forums (especially this one) to make 6-figure incomes.

...and then there are those who use it "in addition to"
other traffic methods.

Lastly theres blog commenting.

I've done this twice before in the past and it works, but
it too is a "lot of work" if you want to drive quality traffic
and have your blog posts "stick".

I don't think you can really say "The best way of traffic generation is _____". You need to know what the exact offer you are trying to promote is before answering your question.

Articles have been enough for many and 1,000's of other dudes on this forum.

Just use the one you're willing to do the most and one that works convert faster and consistently for you. Article marketing does it for me as content is still... king
