Hi guys,
I bought a domain to forward to a affiliate offer i after the forwarding was done i noticed that the url in the broswer was still the ugly affiliate url so i went back to godaddy and masked it also but it still shows the ugly affiliate url ?

I will say i only changed the options to include masking about 3/4 hours ago but godaddy now says its done ?

Any advice ? do i need to wait longer or am i missing somethng ?

Heres the url h t t p://free-teethwhitening.co.uk/

thanks Jim

It may take 1-2 hours before it takes effect. DON'T use a masking url service they will not do the same.

It seems to be successfully masked now, in my browser anyway - so I think it just took a little bit longer?

Just a question, Jim, but why are you using a ".co.uk" domain name for this? (Please don't read into the question any inference that you shouldn't be: I'm just curious!).

      Hi Alexa,
Really is masked in your broswer ? I still see the huge affiliate link ?? So if you type h t t p ://free-teethwhitening.co.uk/ into your broswer and load up the page it still shows h t t p://free-teethwhitening.co.uk/ in the browser bar ?

The reason i kept .co.uk is simply that i am using it for a local business its to go on flyers and business cards in my area, Nothing i really liked the look of was available .com and being as its for local uk business.

Yes, no sign of any affiliate-link here. Curious. Anyway, that's just on your computer, one way or another.

Worked in my browser. Now is there a way to do this with hostgator? I don't want to use godaddy for hosting.

Possible solution to do this is forwarding mydomain.com to www.mydomain.com without masking. As it is written on godaddy.com it can take up to 48 hours for this to take effect. It can be a real problem when doing this for the first time since there is no way to find out if you did the right thing.
