Best Advice I Ever Got...

Hey Warriors,

Seems like quite often we will see people on here talking about not making money or seeing results and I wanted to share the best advice I ever got...

"PICK A SYSTEM AND STICK TO IT!"

Find someone's system/biz model and work it until you see results... Stop working things for a week then skipping to the next thing! Make a checklist of what you want to do everyday and DO IT!!!

Stop buying, stop reading, START WORKING!

Whats the best advice you ever got?

I am not judged by the number of times I fail, but by the number of times I succeed. And the number of times I succeed Is in direct proportion to the number of times I can fail and keep trying.

Mine was very close to yours. Get one website earning at least $1000 a month before even thinking about working on another one. And it's great advice if you think about it. All of the skills you will learn to get that site to the 1k mark will make it so much easier for the next site. That 's what I am focusing on right now. I have a document full of ideas, but first things first. Get website number 1 very very profitable, outsource as much as possible. Then start on the next idea.

Ditto... My chosen biz models as well - with listbuilding added where applicable...

That's great advice, also after you picked a system, try to find a mentor who's master that system. This will really get you on the right track fast.

Exactly! To quote Sean Mize "pick a system, any system, and work it WITH BLINDERS ON!"

    i hear you!

i've been here for over six months now, and i have only just started something i'm sticking to!!! (as of yesterday!)

i just keep going on circles, reading this, reading that, deciding to do something else. and because of this, i haven't got anywhere yet.

i really need to get off the warrior forum, get my thing actually up and running (it's ready to go), and then come back. because honestly, reading this forum makes me change my mind about ten times a day about what i'm going to do.

and that's why in six months, i still haven't got a site up.

Here's what I learned the hard way...

Focus on conversions: For the longest time I've been focused on driving traffic - once you've nailed down the process flow it's just a matter of doing it consistently on a day-to-day basis. I was signing up 300+ double optins daily in a competitive niche (dating) from organic traffic for a few months until I got proverbially "slapped" by the big G.

I then focused more on "selling" by bumping up conversions, launching new products and seasonal promotions which saw my earnings double (despite reduced traffic by about half). Now that I've got a lean, mean conversion machine in place, it's time to work on driving traffic again - that's why I'm here.

Owning my own offer: Affiliate marketing can be crapshoot sometimes - you got to deal with the inherent instability of traffic sources, and risk of offers getting pulled. Having my own offer has given me to negotiate - with traffic sources as well as with other offer owners. Owning an offer (which converts) takes time and ****loads of testing, but it's an asset that gives you plenty of leverage in the long run.

Working in evergreen niches only: Seasonality can be a big factor in our business, and I want to take that variable out when I work on campaigns. Long-tail residue effect (with little or less intervention needed) is what I look for.

When I first started out, I was blasting out articles and submitting to EZA religiously (5 per day) for about two years. I'm no longer an article marketer, and despite the Farmer update I was still getting a healthy number of 500+ long tail clicks from my articles daily from EZA.

I actually force myself to take breaks from WF from time to time! Hard to do... Because like you said you start something then you read about something new or something that makes your second guess yourself.

Thats great! Traffic is vital, once you learn how to generate traffic you can start to tweak the fine points like you have done and focus on really maximizing profits!

The having your own product is important too once you get some experience you can really get a lot of leverage from your own product...

The leverage only comes when you've got a product which is converting decently for your affiliates, of course.

In our business, we've decided to spend more time boosting conversions than driving traffic for reasons above. Many affiliates get burnt promoting deadbeat products - and we want to keep ours happy.

Yes Yes Yes. Thank you for reminding me again! I still wonder where I would be if I kept making Squidoo lenses like when I started. Eh who cares? I have had fun along the way. I now know a lot about almost every method to make money online. I am best at domain names. I just really like them. I have been using my domain name knowledge to get into offline business.

Stick to the basics and stop trying to come up with something new and unique in the beginning. Concentrate your efforts on one method of driving traffic to a good offer and become really good at it until you can drive traffic on demand.

Definitely great advice. Too many people (myself included) jump from one thing to the next. Focus on one thing and maximize it before moving on.

This advice is very true and is golden! Newbies should buy WSOs based on this fact alone and they would be better off! TAKE ACTION People. Stick to something and start making money before jumping to the next 'method'

This is very true. Stick to something until you are making money. Then you can scale it up or add other income streams. But it is action that is the key to any kind of success.

Take action! If someone puts the effort and work into a system for a full thirty 30 you will see results... or you will know that it won't work for you!

      Cheers

  • The best advice I ever got was to buy access to the war room and also buy artisteer. Those 2 things have made a huge difference.

Yup. It is one of the best advice. It's not just valid in the IM world, but other things too. In short, it essentially says that you need to have focus. That's what people normally lack. They try doing something here, and move on if no appreciable result is seen, without allowing enough time for their efforts to materialize.
