Email Marketing For A Client - Gmail Blocked Emails

I am a FOOL!!

I just sent out like 200 emails with unique subject titles and a video of my client within the email along with a PDF file from my client's new gmail account.

I finished sending them all out and then it occurred to me to send one out to myself...

I never received it - it didn't even end up in my gmail spam filter!

What the heck is going on? I did all of them in about an hour and a half with a lot of copy and pasting and I got the rhythm down pretty good so I was sending about 10 every 2 and a half minutes.

Is it possible gmail just never sent them?

Also, another detail, I sent an email out that did NOT carry the same content and just said TEST in the subject field and that one DID arrive.

2 things:
- do you know why this would be?
- is there an autorespoder out there UNLIKE aweber where if I plug in the emails and names, they will not have to click any confirmation link? (the reason why I do not think this is unethical is because my client actually took 20 hours and call each and every one of these people and asked them if he could send them emails and they all said yes)

Your thoughts and opinions here are greatly appreciated

Thanks!

Cosmo

I believe that what you have admitted to doing here is called spamming... and it sounds like you put a ton of effort into your spamming.

You also say "client" so I assume that you are charging someone to do this?

    False alarm!

It turns out the emails went through. Probably because it isn't spam since I would have been emailing people who DIDN'T give me their permission to send them all an email @bretski.

Ended up being a useless thread - sorry about that all.

Whatever... Do what you like but it's not the way I choose to run my business nor would I recommend this method for anyone. Very unprofessional, a waste of time and a great way to get a gmail account disabled.

The OP didn't have permission. He never spoke with anyone other than his "client" who said that he spoke with all of these people over a 20 hour period. Unless the phone calls were taped I believe that this wouldn't hold up to anyone's scrutiny nor do I think Google would give a crap if he did have verbal permission if they started getting spam complaints. Then where would his client be with a disabled gmail account that he was using to do business?

Sorry but the whole thing is just stupid. Spending 20 hours on the phone so you can send emails to 200 people without an opt in? Rewriting 200 emails so they appear unique so as to keep them from looking like a bulk email?

Look... I have better things to do with my time than research the ICANN laws for you. They are in place for a reason and there are free bulk mail resources out there if money is the issue. Yes, even bulk email resources that will allow you to import a list and send emails without an opt in.
