Does anyone have any experience in clickbank and is it a good place to make some decent money for a beginner IM?

It is the right place to start. That's for sure. If you go to the marketplace you can look at which niche you will want to promote.

You will be given an affiliate link to paste onto your website.

When you research the products there, the ones with High Gravity mean that they are selling very well. However, you will be competing with many others for the same product. (Anything over 130 is pretty high)

Low gravity just usually means less competition and minimal sales. I know people that do VERY well with low gravity products because they are one of the only ones promoting them. (less than 130...or less than 50)

You will want to learn the basics of setting up a squeeze page and driving targeted traffic to it.

There are plenty of other networks, but clickbank is perfect if you are just starting out.

Sorry, Ryan: this is honestly completely wrong.

Gravity doesn't measure numbers of sales at all.

It's very widely believed, but there's absolutely no inference that high gravity products are selling more than low gravity products. It's just one of those "urban myths of internet marketing". It's actually very common for Clickbank products with gravities in single figures regularly to outsell products with gravities in three figures.

There's a lot more about gravity in this thread, for anyone wanting details, explanations and reasons.

Yes, a lot of money can be made on ClickBank. Make sure to capture people's email addresses instead of just linking direct to the product. You want to be able to sell to them forever.

      Well...

A squeeze page is a one page website offering something of value for some kind of incentive. In todays market place, many people are offering a free ebook to give away as long as the visitor puts in their e-mail address.

You can google "Free PLR e books" to have access to ebooks that you can give away if you choose.

You will need a hosting account and domain name (a web address)

You may have come across quite a few of these on your web searches. Just go to Goolge and type in "Squeeze Page" for more definitions

Don't expect to make a lot of money fast and its going to more then likely take you some time to hit your first 5 orders before you can cash out. It is a great place to get involved with but if your doing list building or one on one communication with people make sure you review the products first there is a lot of crap on there anymore.

Yep it's a good place to start because it's easy to use, you dont have to worry about refunds and you can find some good markets there to start with.

My advice is that internet marketing is simple... so simple that you'll keep searching for the secret to making money.

But dont mistake simple for easy... it takes work and you'll fail a few times too.

Are you saying that you don't have to worry about refunds on Clickbank? I've found just the opposite to be true. Maybe its just the IM products that I've been marketing, but it seems like the refund rate that I've encountered is close to 50%. I've been marketing the top gravity items for the most part. It can be extremely depressing when you make a sale with upsells that total over $150 in commissions and then its all taken back by refunds a month later.

You can use wordpress.. there are themes and plugins available to help you make a squeeze page. Just remember, having a website promoting a product does not mean you are going to make money. You need traffic to your website, and more importantly you need targeted traffic - meaning those people visiting your website are going to be interested in buying the product.

      Hi AJ,

If you're serious about stepping into the IM game for the long-haul, you will find it better to learn to do things like setting up a squeeze page yourself (unless you have a tidy nest egg put aside that you can dip into).

These things are NOT difficult and you'll soon find they become second nature. Sure everyone here would agree.

Personally, I use Wordpress to build all my sites, from single page squeeze pages to multi-page blogs.

Clickbank is a good place to get started but, in my opinion, the only way to make tons of cash is to have your own product. I make like $150 every couple of months marketing other people's products on Clickbank. Certainly not enough to quit my day job but I can use it to reinvest and explore the next great tool that might take me over the top.

I think Clickbank is the best place to start out when making money online.
One reason is because they offer digital products that can be recieved immediately, that means you get paid immediately when you make a sale.
Another reason why I like Clickbank is because they have products in many different niches, so all a person really needs to do is choose a niche and be creative with promoting the product, then sales will follow. It's pretty simple when you understand the process.

ClickBank is great. You will probably want to start out as an affiliate and then move into your own products. When promoting affiliate offers, look for a high gravity score as this is sort of like the conversion rate. However if you want to do really well in IM, create your own product(s) and set up your own affiliate program. Also learn how to build a high-converting squeeze page and drive traffic to it in order to build your list. Then make multiple offers and product launches to your list. Anyway, that's what's worked for me. Hope that helps.

    Hello Jay,
I think click bank is a great place to start because the whole process is quite simple and it's where I made my first affiliate sale. I would say you still have to spend the time building the relationship so that people will click on your affiliate link... good luck with it..

ClickBank is excellent for newbies and experts alike, but finding a good product to promote could be difficult. Also, merchant support is often minimal or downright non-existent.

Like Alexa, I won't be sweating too hard over gravity although it's a sufficiently good indication of "convertibility". In some niches (such as IM or bizop) this figure is often inflated (people buying through their own affiliate links).

Clickbank is a great place to start. The key is to be persistent and never give up. Things might not work out the way you want them to at first, but if you keep at it you will see success.

If you are just starting out making money online, ClickBank can be a good place to start. It’s easy to use and the commissions are good. You can actually make good money with Clickbank. One bit of advice would be to consider the products you link to very carefully as some of them can have a cheap feeling to them. I’ve seen some nasty get rich quick programs and iffy e-books – stuff like that. However, they do have some quality products as well. Good luck to you!!

Yess, I agree that Clickbank is one of the most popular and successful affiliate programs on the internet today, acting as an intermediary between the customer ordering a product and then receiving it.
Although the Clickbank affiliate program is extremely successful, it doesn’t mean that it will automatically happen for all of their affiliates, we need to follow a few simple rules so that we’re not one of the large percentage of affiliates who put in lots of work for little reward.
It can work, we can make good money with Clickbank, but we’ve got to know a little about what we’re doing. We need to know how to choosing a clickbank product, promoting our clickbank product, promoting our website, etc.
