Ebay Expert Needed, Help Me Clear Some Things Up Please!

Hey guys,

Just popping online to see if there are any ebay experts online.

Basically my father has asked me to open a shop for him, he is going to be selling personalized portrait photograph.

What I would like to know is, what factors are taken into consideration when ebay ranks items.

Now I already know that the title plays a major roll and have some really great highly targeted keyword optimized titles sorted.

But what other factors come into play:

Does the actual sales copy play a roll?

How do you drive a new shop listing from the back of all of the results to get to the first few pages quickly?

Because i am pretty hardly anyone is going to click through maybe 80 pages to the very end.

I am going to list some short 1 and 3 day loss leader listings to get people to the shop, however I would like to be able to get the actual 30 day shop listing up there as soon as possible.

Any help would be great,
Thanks,
Stephen

Aslong has you have keyword rich titles for the products you sell then you should not go far wrong.

You can also check what terms of your product's are being searched the most on Quantcast and Terapeak.

If you need any more help drop me a PM. I have alot of experience with Ebay and ecommerce.

    Good luck

      thanks for getting back,

I have keyword rich titles, however listings are generally sorted by time remaining, so if I list a 30 day listing it will be right at the back won't it.

however upon doing some research I found some listings with 25 days left on the first page of the results out of 77 pages for the main keyword, I would like to know how they do it?

Is it related to views, or quantity sold.

      Any ideas?

        Hi ,

Back when i started 4 years ago at age 14 (Currently 18) , I got my first shop with the help of my dad and back then it was still hard to get sales. If you have a keyword rich title and a nice clean looking listing (Template is highly recommended) and a competitive price then you will get sales. When you get sales it places you higher up for the search term so thats what you need to focus on SALES. It does not matter about when you created the shop etc
