Does it every take PayPal payments a few days to clear?

I am selling some advertising to a company. We have a one-year agreement with monthly payments. Each of the first two months, I've had to contact them and say, "Hey, where's the payment?"

The latest excuse I've gotten is that the payment has to "clear" through Paypal, and it should take a few days. I've never experienced a multi-day wait on a payment through Paypal, so I'm wondering if this sounds legit, or does it sound like a run-around to you?

    Sounds like the latter to me. All payments in Paypal so far as I understand are instant. Even if someone's paying you by echeck, you still get the notification instantly although actual delivery may take 3-4 days.

    Yes pay pal takes some days to clear payments.

    Most brick and mortar businesses have accounts at real banks and transfer only the exact amounts they need into PayPal. This usually takes three to five business days, and THEN they send you the money.

    It's not uncommon for businesses to be completely unaware that you can carry a balance on PayPal, or that they can "link" their bank account and send money that isn't already on the PayPal balance.
