More Keyword Searches Than Actual Pages ... good?

This is a first. I've come across a niche that's interesting and I've searched the keyword tool and found a set of really good keywords ... second set of keywords down has 40,000 monthly searches ... the .com domain is open ... and when searched in google using " " has only 37,000 actual pages using the keywords.

I'm familiar with the niche matrix idea ... but I've never run across something that's "upside down" like this ... usually it's 1,000 searches and 12,000 pages ... not 40,000 searches and only 37,000 pages ...

so should I snap this up? Good, bad, ugly?

Thanks all.

Looks good just make sure the 40k searches is not a broad match as that's usually a little generous.

Did you check the quality of the 37,000 pages? If you have a chance of outranking the competition, then you should probably go for it. I think the quality of the competition matters just as much as the amount of competition.

I was actually just looking over who is on the front page there ... pretty typical stuff ... seems like it's a little saturated, but then again it's just so tempting because it has more searches than actually pages (of course this is only using the " " technique - broad it goes to 4 million ... but in another niche I'm front page on over 1 billion various pages (not top 3 yet and may never ... but) and it took 13 days to conquer those ... )

      I don't know .. it's very tempting ... appreciate all advice.

BTW, I usually do the 'google sniper' thing or whatever - I don't know what I do, I just do whatever it is ... I was thinking of doing a 'review' style site -- but looking at the competition on page 1, every single link is a store -- not a 1 is a blog or blog style ... this would be really good for a forum ... I have NO CLUE how to SEO for a forum ... none.

I don't know if that matters to my original question or not.
