Conversion Different: Paid By Clickbank or Paypal?

Hi Warriors,

A JV partner mentioned to me that her list prefers to buy product paid through Paypal and not attracted to Clickbank products.

I wonder does anyone has this similar experience?

Cheers,
John

Using Clickbank attaches their reputation to your product. It's immediately going to feel like another "get rich quick" sales site, tainted by all the low quality products available there, when you use Clickbank URLs.

That doesn't bother some people, especially newbs who don't know better, but more experienced customers may have that bias.

Hi Dan, thanks for your reply. What sort of bias does more experienced customers have?

The bias I mentioned in the first two sentences.

Well, now you can pay using Paypal on CB products, so why don't you suggest to the visitors just before they're hitting the order button that they can look for the "Pay with Paypa"l logo or something.

I think having this option enables you to collect payments from more countries to cover for the lack of either Paypal or CB payment options.

Maybe what your JV partner is really suggesting she'd like to experience less refunds by doing away with CB. But it can also increase number of sales because of CB's money back guarantee.

            Hi Takuya,

Nice to see you around again!

Will have two buttons be confusing for the buyer?

Thanks in advance. and have a good weekend!

            Cheers,
            John

Why do you think that? I've received over $300,000 through PayPal over the 8 years my account has been open, and it's never been limited.

Limiting occurs when you suddeny make 50,000 dollars of sales in a day when you have a lot of JV partners sending you traffic.

                  Paypal is like fire!

You need to keep playing with it!

Have 4 paypal accounts, maybe i1 in the name of all yoiur family members! And then be ready to switch to the next account As soon as first one becomes limited! And in the meanwhile just talk to Paypal via Phone or something... they sure help! Even if they don't, just relax, cuz you have a backup in the form of an alternate account!

Also, try informing them beforehand about the sales and the crazy money that's coming in on XX date this month!! Might help, I dunno..
                  .

Please don't suggest violating the terms of service as advice... that's dangerous. You're allowed one business or premiere account, and one personal account. Trust me, they'll know if you start logging into a 3rd account.

If the limit was placed because of a sudden spike of income that big, you'd just show them it was legitimate and the limit would be removed. It's good business for them to do that to stop potential fraud before it gets out of hand. A limited account can still receive money, it just prevents you from transferring the money out of the account until a human has a chance to make sure everything's kosher.

                      Yeah sure!

And let the sales fall off for the period when they (PP) aren't letting the willing pay...

And who says you can't use your sister's account without violating the terms of service!

                      Wonder!

Mostsales take place during the first few place and you need to have solid mechanisms in place to actually ensure that you are not losing not only money, but also the trust and credibility that you could develop with the launch!

                        That's my point!

You're confused about what happens when an account is limited. You can still receive payments; your customers don't know. You just can't send or withdraw the payments to your bank account.

A little hard to read, but the first item under "What can I do while my account access is limited?" is "Receive payments".

Then I think there are some sorts of levels of limitations... coz when my account was limited, I wasn't able to take payments... That was in May this year!

                            Gotta find out!

More experienced customers should realize that Clickbank is just a marketplace with products from thousands of sellers, and this has nothing to do with the quality of a specific product.

They would also realize they can easily get a refund if they aren't satisfied.

Whether they should realize that or not, the subtleties of it matter. If they have bought the crap on CB before, it's going to influence their evaluation of your product. Just like those little site seals and trust badges on checkout pages subtly make customers feel safer during checkout just by seeing a familiar logo associated with the site.

You can do everything CB does without the taint... run your own payment form, accept both credit cards and PayPal, offer a guarantee, run an affiliate program... it's up to you if the extra work is worth establishing your own reputation instead of relying on theirs.
