What a difference a few months make. LOL 
I was chatting with someone today online and said, "Write your posts with SEO in mind and make sure your sidebars have...."
To which the person on the other end said, "????" :rolleyes:
It is amazing to me how easily I can rattle off an alphabet soup of terms now (SEO, PPC, CPC, CPA, etc.)....when 4 months ago I felt like I was reading Mandarin Chinese when I first found this forum.
But it is important to remember about vocabulary when you are writing to teach someone.
When I am teaching my kids (I homeschool), I have to keep their different abilities in mind. I cannot teach Algebra if they cannot do addition and subtraction. You are trying to build on a skill they do not have.
So if you write a report or guide and then say, "All you need to do is use the Google Adwords keyword tool," and then never explain what that is, then nothing else you say on that subject will make sense - they are missing a fundamental piece of the puzzle.
It is much better to teach them something they already know than to assume they don't know it and skip it.
When you know a lot of stuff, you forget to explain the basics. If you are not sure if your report/guide/etc. gives enough explanation, give it to a newbie to read and give feedback.
