Just Watch What You Eat and Take Action!
Have you ever actually stopped to think about these phrases? Watch what I eat, what exactly do you mean? Of course, I watch what I eat, I watch as it goes from my plate to my mouth.
If you are left to your own devices and the sage words of "watch what you eat" you will probably never lose weight. Why? Well, because you don't have a plan. When you don't have a plan, you are usually destined for failure.
The diet I'm currently on, is very regimented on what you can and can't eat. I have a plan. Every day, I think about my meals in advance. I make sure I have all the proper ingredients for these meals. In two weeks, I've lost 9 lbs. I plan on sticking to this diet. To me, its not a diet, so much as its a way to change my attitude about healthy eating for the rest of my life.
I'm not addicted to sugar, or "bad carbs" anymore. I've learned I actually enjoy the taste of salad, I don't have to drown it in dressing. I don't touch processed foods anymore. I haven't felt this energetic and healthy in years.
This diet would never work if I went jumping from diet to diet. That would be crazy. I would be so mixed up and confused about what I should and shouldn't eat. I found something that I knew would work for me and am determined to stick it out until I get the results I want.
Now, let's take a look at the common saying of "take action" when it comes to IM. What exactly are you supposed to "take action" with? Just like losing weight, if you don't have a plan, you're destined to fail.
You need to plot out what you want to accomplish and how you want to accomplish it. You need to figure out a course of action, maybe get a blue print from someone who has already succeeded in doing what you want to do, and stick with it.
If you want to do article marketing, then just do that. Make a site, put affiliate links and submit articles to article directories. If you want to buy a guide from someone who has very successful at it, then do so. Stick with it. Stick with it until you get some results.
Just like with the diet, you can't jump around. You can't decide one day you want to be an article marketer then the next you want to do PPC. Its important that you succeed at one task. Once you get a system down and start seeing results, then if you want to start slowly branching out, that's okay.
Just like planning your meals for the day while on a diet, you have to sit down and think about what you want to accomplish for that day. You have to stick to it and don't get distracted. Believe me, McDonald's is tempting, but I keep my eye on the prize. If you've decided you want to do article marketing that new course on PPC may look great, but keep your eye on the prize.
Yes, "watch what you eat" and "take action" are good advice, when you realize they are incomplete. If you add "watch what you eat while sticking to a proven diet plan" or "take action after you've decided what you want your goals to be and have a clear plan to get there."
