Yes Just look up "usa currency exchange locations" in Google and add in your city. If you are in a metropolitan area with a lot of banks Google should bring up a map of the locations on the right.

If you take it to a normal check cashing place, they will be taking a BIG risk! DON'T you think they will CHARGE YOU for it?

Try finding a nice international bank, and ask if you can open up an account to handle this check. There ARE such banks, in the US. Swiss, German, Danish, and probably ALL major world banks have at LEAST one branch in the US. And THEY could put a hold on the funds, and do other things, to mitigate the risk at NO cost to you. They will probably STILL charge a conversion fee, but I bet it will be a LOT less.

Plus you now have an account for future checks.
This is a good option I reckon.

I think most banks will charge you. I think your best option would be to look for an international bank.

Most banks will change it for you. Just depends on the charge and the exchange rate. Might be worth checking if you can open a pound sterling account with a bank and pay the cheques in there before transfering some into your USD account.

Ask your bank to do it.

If you're in a city - good you can change your money.

If you're in a smaller place, the bank will refer you somewhere that can help you.

Guys, the thread is 8 months old. If that check hasn't been paid in somewhere by now, it won't even still be valid. :p
