Who Wants To Earn $200,000+ From Twitter?

It looks like all those Twitter WSOs I bought but never opened are about to come in handy.

But seriously, the job marketplace is changing rapidly and do NOT understimate the value of the skills you are acquiring.

And yes, I know that a bit more than Twitter skills will be required...

Anyway, read all about it here.

Twitter may work for those who approach other users offering their help, or for those who use various automatic tools. Otherwise it really is a waste of time.

You have to know how to use it, you need the right tools, and you have to spend your time there.

I’m only posting my articles at Twitter; nothing else. Only a few of my followers are really following me; most of my followers followed me because they were hoping to be followed too. I stopped following just anyone.

However, this post made me think about finding ways to use Twitter somehow, instead of simply posting my links there.

Twitter works if you use it properly.

It's not about getting a gazillion followers.

      It's about relationships.

People do business with those they know, like and trust.

Twitter can help you network like that.

Twitter does have some powerful potential. I couldn't figure out how they could monetize it when I first heard of them back in 2009, but with their growth and popularity now, twitter can be huge if you know how to harness it.

Personally, I use neither Twitter nor Facebook, but it is becoming increasingly difficult to ignore them.

The trick I guess lies in finding how to leverage their popularity without unduly wasting one's time.

I think that a lot of my friends don't use twitter but that doesn't mean businesses don't and a ton of other people too.

I know that there are millions of users on twitter that you can send instant messages out to and this is very powerful.

The only thing about twitter I don't like is that a lot of time your messages are overlooked, even if you send them out several times a day. But otherwise it definitely has a lot of potential.

I'd like to be paid $200k a year just for tweeting stuff. But then, I'm not so much of a twitter user, and I'm sure there are other responsibilities involved. Plus I don't live in the UK. Interesting story though.

I don't see the point of this thread. The title seems to be simply misleading as the OP is unaware of how to use Twitter.

I do use it on a regular basis and it is not to be taken lightly. There are many benefits, such as getting pages on websites indexed quickly, driving Twitter traffic to pertinent information on your website, and building a targeted email list.

Mostly, revenue flows from the relationship you build with those on your email list rather than direct mailing promotions to those who follow on Twitter.

Did you actually click the link & read the story?

And what gave you the impression that the OP is unaware of how to use Twitter? Certainly can't be the snippet you quoted?

I think you can ignore Twitter, just fine. I think it's really, really hard to make money from twitter as a traffic source as it's not meant to be a traffic source, at all. Facebook can be much easier in terms of ROI of your time when you use fan pages.

If you want to be a humongous large-scale spammer on both sites you can make money as well, I'm sure, but why would I want to do that?

Twitter works when you are dedicated to getting to know your market and potential clients.

Interact with them on a personal level and you will achieve success.

The moment you start following a bunch of people in the hope of getting followed back and sending out automated twitter messages all the time you will fail with Twitter.

      Hi,

Me to think that twitter worked only when you have knowledge that people in your circle really want to know your work. They just seems to build the network of people no matter what they desire. The trust people get in Twitter is not adeqaute. I may prefer Facbook than twitter as I had tried & Tested both the systems & I get many loyal customers from my facebook Page.

Rightly Said for twitter - Its just Tweet - People See & Forget.
In Facebook - Peoples do go your site.

      Thanks

I agree - Twitter is great for fostering relationships, but I don't know how effective it is as a marketing tool.

Social media is a booming industry. But then it doesn't mean that each one of us can take a share on its popularity, and to be more specific- twitter. If you are more active in facebook than twitter then it will be obvious that you will gain results in facebook and not twitter.

There are all sorts of benefits for you in using Twitter, especially if you follow a proper approach to building a targeted list of followers and you grow that list consistently using effective tactics.

You can't just tweet affiliate links a few times times per day and expect results.

You build, nurture and grow your followers just like you would your email subscribers - and if you do it right, many of your followers should end up being your email subscribers too.

How interesting that this topic comes up only days after I released a WSO on How to Get More Followers on Twitter (see my sig)

Its hard to follow 10 people there, and still some people have like 2000 people on their follow list, I have ~100 followers there and I rarely get visitors from my tweets.. Facebook works wonders!
I don't even know why twitter became so popular..

wow, that's an enormous salary for writing 140 character political updates!

In reaction to the people not seeing any traffic-increase from their Twitter followers: I've only recently started using Twitter for marketing purposes and I must say, although there's not much traffic compared to Google and Facebook, it's the community value that's awesome. Sometimes one of my followers retweets something with a link to one of my articles and you immediately notice that you reach different crowds than you'd normally reach.

So I'm not dead-set on huge amounts of traffic, I'm interested in spreading word of my site, tweet by tweet, reader by reader.
