Best day of week to do Press Release ?

Hi,

I have a press release prepared for my site.

The site is about Internet marketing.

Does anyone know if there is a "best" day and time to send out the press release ?

Thanks

Monday is usually a slow news day. Best day to submit a press release.

      Hi Tim,

This is actually an interesting point.

I've read quite a bit online in regards to this and there is a general consensus that earlier in the day and earlier in the week is good.

Definitely Tuesday through until Thursday generally speaking. However, this is not a hard and fast rule.

I actually disagree with Monday (as you tend to find some residual wkend news items flowing over until the Monday).

If you really wanted to be strategic about it in terms of placement you could:
      - Wait for a slower news day (but always difficult to predict), or
      - Even look at Google trends.

However, I saw a quote by Scott Moir (founder of Irbtrax) online which makes a lot of sense to me. He said "The best time to send out a press release is during the peak Internet traffic hours for your target audience, no matter which day you choose."

      Goodluck with your press release.

Your goal should be to rank your Press release on the first pages of Google for your keyword phrase. I wouldn't worry too much about when you publish it just where it ranks.

I have had a third party ( a WSO ) do the press release and they are just about to send it out.

Not really sure what they will do to "rank" the press release. I think the keywords are:

how to find niche markets, Click2Sell Super Analyzer, CB Super Analyzer, PayDotCom Super Analyzer

Not sure what I should do about getting it ranked ???

I just meant when Google indexes your press release try to take the number 1 spot for your title or keyword phrase for your press release. That way you get traffic from the press release sites, and targeted traffic from Google.

You may want to try prlog.org I have had a lot of success with them. The best part is their press releases rank highly in the search engines, and it is free.

For Internet distribution, anytime is okay.

For print distribution, Tuesday through Thursday is best. Overall, I'd say Tuesday is best for print, since that much lead time is needed if it is selected to go into weekend Features Sections. Keep in mind, your release will need a human interest slant to make it into the Features Section of a newspaper.

I don't have too much experience in this area, but I have read a lot about it. From what I have read, the best day to release an IM-related press release is between Monday and Wednesday, and the best time is in the morning. Though everyones' schedules are wildly different in the IM niche, so who really knows? I think it might be best for you to experiment for yourself - you will learn something from every PR you release.

I agree that tuesday-thursday are the best days to send PR.

That's pretty interesting question! I guess that the middle of the week is best for that (i.e. wednesday) since there's no any monday/friday slowdowns. As for me, I always used to find myself being most productive at wednesdays.

I think any day on weekends many agencies do not work, should reduce releases
