How do you set up paypal to redirect to download page

When you are setting up your BUY NOW button..

You will see a step 3 at the bottom of the list of steps.... click that and it gives you a checkout success and a checkout cancellation option for URL's..

Just add a line to the Paypal code as follows pointing to your page and purchasers will be directed there after their transaction completes.

Hey Phil,

You can do it man. When creating your button, you'll see an option

with the field to fill in the url to where you will have your thank you page.

This field is marked "successful payment completed" url or something to that effect.

You'll see it and won't be able to miss it.

That's where you enter the link to the folder where you will have your
web page containing the thank you and download link.

The download link should be linked directly to your download and the file to be downloaded (your product) should be uploaded to your server
in a new folder you create and name the same name as the link you
made for it on your thank you page which can also be called your download page.

You may want to make it a hard to guess name so it's not the common
thankyoupage.htm or download.htm

Once it's all entered in, you can create the pages using your web site
html editor

and upload the new pages/files to your server

via your ftp client.

After you've done this, you should always test it to make sure it works

and that way you can troubleshoot through any hang-ups in your system

after you've created it the first time, although by just following these instructions, you'll most likely nail it the first time.

In the PayPal website, when you create your buy now button there is an option at the bottom of the form to add more options (I think it's advanced options).

Click this and you get a whole range of new options appear.

You can set this in the Account page, but I can suggest you a better decision:

Register at E-Junkie.com and upload your product there. E-junkie manages your downloads and sends automatic e-mail messages on purchase. It allows you to setup an easy manageable affiliate program for every product. Works like crazy!

Thanks again everyone. I think it must be due to the fact I need to upgrade my account to a business account, hopefully it's free???? Othewise when I click on the advanced options button, it doesn't give me the url option.
