Days of people actually "reprinting" article bank articles over?

Years ago, the point of putting articles in article banks seemed to be that webmasters seeking content (aka live humans) would ferret out the better ones and republish them. Distributed link juice. Groovy.

Then a year or two ago I just couldn't find any evidence that anyone other than splogs were reprinting EZA articles (or anyone else's). So I stopped submitting for a while.

Looks like things are still much the same ... I did a search on several "most viewed over past 90 days" articles in my niche and couldn't find any evidence that any other site (besides EZA) had reprinted any of them. And yes, some of those were terrible articles, but some were very good.

So, is the point of submitting to EZA simply to get that single link on EZA, or is anyone finding that their articles still get distributed beyond the banks?

I found that my articles were getting spinned and used on splogs without any credit. So I stopped doing that. There are much better and easier ways to get links to your site for SEO purposes!

The whole article marketing thing always struck me as one of the greatest waste of time tactics. It has to be one of the least profitable time/return activities around. There are countless ways to make money online AND anywhere else with a much better return on the time invested.

Most of it seems like ill informed spam in order to get a single link.

    Just my opinion...

Thomas, I've got to agree. Today there's just so much noise out there, that I'm not sure article marketing is nearly as effective as it once was. I think the advent of the article spinner has taken its toll.

I think the advent of reams of wholly useless content has also had an impact.

Yes, lots of my articles have ended up on splogs, but I also have a fair number that end up on legitimate sites. The articles that tend to do better are the ones NOT about internet marketing.

There really are people out there looking for great articles to put on their blogs.

I do not do much article marketing. I invest in marketing online and offline to build my business.

Yes, I have articles republished on other sites frequently.

The problem with "article marketing" is that it is too often presented as "the answer" when it is only one of many traffic and link methods to use.
