Acronyms?

Is there a list somewhere on here of all of the acronyms and what they mean???

Also, a list of many of the common types of IM would be helpful too.

      I was about to post some, but I went through Peter's list and saw that it covers practically every term used in IM. OP, you'd want to check it out.

    You can frequently hover over one of them and see a tooltip. For example, OP and PPC are automatically help-texted on hover in this forum.

      OP and PPC are initializations, not acronyms.
      Of course that was prior to the world of PC's creating a new lexicon
      not to be confused with "initialization" as it applies to a "start-up" process.

      Back before the 80's, it was what a set of letters in a series representing multiple words who's first "initials" could not be pronounced as a word was defined as. That was in a formal sense. In paralell(not to be confused with "series") an "acronym" on the other hand has always been in the jurisdiction of a set of letters in that can be voiced as a word is pronounceable.
