Help w/ OpenOffice Writer 3... PLEASE!

Hi Warriors,

Is there anyone that knows OpenOffice Writer inside and out?

I could really use some assistance with trying to insert content
and page numbers within a footer on every page.

The catch is I don't want my set content per page to be pushed
down onto another page and I don't want page 1 starting on the
cover page of my report.

I want page 1 starting on the start of the content page. Also, I
can't seem to find the section to insert a border around the content
on each page.

Any assistance will greatly be appreciated.

    You should be able to find what you need in the documentation and/or tutorials at openoffice.org - if not, ask on the forums there.

    I'm not sure you can start page numbering with your first page of content (I assume you want to use Roman numerals for the front matter). Someone active on the forums will know for sure. Search the documentation first.

      I always mess up the page numbers so can't help you there. I use an offset to make sure the pages don't start showing a number until the actual content, however that usually means it starts with page 3 or 4.

      As to pushing the content around on the page, if you typed it up without headers or footers and then add them, you are going to see the content move - there's no getting around that.

      As to the borders, choose Format > page and you'll see borders as one of your options. You will have to do that for all page styles that you want the border on but as most of the report/ebook should be in default, that's not difficult to do.
