How Can I Promote My Press Release to Get the Most Out of It ?

Hi,

Got a PR written and its being released soon.

I have heard about "promoting" a PR

What would you recommend I do to promote it

I guess this involves back-linking to it ?

Please give me your best strategies so I can get
the best out of this PR.

Thanks.

First of all...the BEST way to get a lot out of your press release is to use a paid service for press releases to begin with. Many of those PR services that are free are "spammy" and the pages they end up on may or may not be found by the search engines as well as those from a paid service.

That being said...don't go overboard on it either. The minimum paid service on PRWeb will suffice.

Now as far as getting backlinks to these press releases, you can use any backlink strategy that you would normally use.

      Thanks for your reply.

I did use a paid service so it should go to some good
      sites.

Now, that's the bit I would like some input on

For the backlinking just go to fiverr and pay someone to do about 100 or so social bookmarking with some pinging and rss submits and you should be on a good start.

You can also look into other gigs on fiverr that distribute the PR to get more exposure.

I have used paid and free services and they seem fairly equal to me. They key thing is to distribute with someone who appears in Google News. Most don't, but if you get in Google News you'll see an ongoing boost in traffic. At least that has been my experience.

      Thanks again for the input,

      I really appreciate it.

The guy submitting the PR said that I would be in Google News.
It would be good to get it high up.

I suppose I can search for my keywords on google news ?

I usually submit my PR's to Webwire (paid service). Then I usually pay to have it submitted to other PR sites. There are many people on this forum that offer this type of service at good prices.

if you have the time, bookmark it at social bookmarking sites and backlink to it from different sites.

if you have the money, i ditto the fiverr suggestion above. i've had good and bad results using backlink and bookmarking gigs from fiverr.

mainly, some gigs on fiverr will only work to get a site indexed if it's the root domain. stay away from those. you want a gig that builds links to a full URL like http://www.myprwebsite/category/my-pr-article-title

We have been able to get first page rankings for certain long tail keywords by daisy chaining press releases. PR1 >>> PR2 >>>> PR3

        daisy chaining press releases.
        Thats interesting.

So I could "spin" the press release and link to the first one and release
        it again - maybe a a day later ?

I am about to do another press release about the
$50 free Banner Offer we have going.

A previous poster suggested "daisy chaining" the PRs

I guess that means that I add a link from the PR I am about to send to the PR that was sent out about a week agao ?

Is that how it works ?

The best way to promote it is by paying for a distribution to the biggest online publications. Having the right distribution channel makes the difference between generating some buzz for your PR or losing your time. Is a known fact that press releases rank very high for competitive keywords. Even if they stay there for a few hours or maximum a few days it will attract many visitors (if you targeted the right keywords).
