If your site is very new, you should focus on bilding quality content first. Then you should focus on traffic. If your content is really qualified, you will get traffic from viral marketing.
But some usual ways to get traffic is blog commenting, guest posting, forum posting, article marketing etc

I've been getting $0.00 to $0.01 clicks lately with Facebook ads. :-) And that's not from developing countries...that's from targeted U.S. traffic.

If you know what you're doing with Facebook ads, there is a TON of power in it.

99% of people just don't know how to advertise properly on Facebook, so they claim it's super expensive...but it's really not...It's dirt cheap.

I’m getting traffic by creating Squidoo lenses, and mainly I’m seeing at Statcounter that my visitors are remaining longer at my websites now that I have created many lenses about my main topic. Here is a lens that teaches you how to create many lenses in a short period of time:

Another good tactic (and free) is to answer questions at Yahoo Answers and Quora, and posting your links. However, be careful because some users will report your posts if they are too commercial. Ad a link as a complementation of the answer you are giving, in a ‘diplomatic’ way.

Try and use the basic fundamentals of link building as what other has recommended here.
Traffic comes from different channels. The bigger channels you have the higher chance of getting your site exposed. Just a reminder you have to be patient about getting traffic as it takes time, unless you are doing black hat technique which I don't recommend.

Give us some better information about your business, content, setup, etc. It's difficult to tell someone how to 'get more traffic' or 'get more clients' without understanding the business as a whole.

Article Marketing may be your best choice....or Social Media may be better. It all depends.
