You Screwed Yourselves Over!

What I'm I talking about?

I'm talking about the serial refunders. The ones who feel that since a product is digital they have a right to get it for free if they can just make up any lame excuse they want ("it's not for me").

Well, it's come time to pay the piper.

Because like turnstile hopping at the subway this crime only provides a short term benefit and then destroys itself.

Once too many people began requesting bogus refunds something happened....

I see it happening all over the IM world. People are tightening up their refund policies or getting rid of them altogether.

Are you happy now you seriel refunders? Now, for many of these products NOBODY will be able to try out products "risk free" anymore because you have taken advantage of the system.

It's too bad. In the end, you only hurt yourselves.

Imagine if everyone jumped the turnstile instead of paying for the subway...pretty soon there would be no subway to steal from anymore.

It's the same thing here.

If people stop paying for IM products...it's won't be long before the owners stop making them.

So let's all do ourselves a favor and pay for the products we buy as long as they deliver what they promised to. There can be no guarantee that a product will be "for you"...but if we refund for stuff like that everybody suffers.

Most of the money should be made in the backend.

Serial refunders won't get there, so why hurt your bottomline?

I like to deal with serial refunders on an individual basis. So rather than making it more difficult for my honest customers (by "locking down" products or doing away with refund policies), instead I ban serial refunders from purchasing any more of my products.

In other words, if someone comes along and buys several products or affiliate products through my aff links, then I take them off my newsletter list and ban them from my sites.

Of course I know what you're saying. Problem is, if people do away with their refund policies, the serial refunders will get around that by doing chargebacks, etc.

Yes, I know... I'm drifting away from the point of your post. Sorry about that.

    cheers,
    Becky

I've had quite a few of these recently. Actually, since my products are being sold via PayPal currently, I get people who contact PayPal and say they didn't authorize the transaction. These "Unauthorized" payments are total B/S, because they are still getting my product.

It's pretty sad when people do this for products that only cost $7 to $10.

I've found that some of these actually ARE unauthorized transactions. It's some IMer who illegally accesses some unsuspecting person's Paypal account and buys your stuff.

I've spoken to the victims in these cases and they are often shocked and have no idea what internet marketing even is!
