When is the best day to launch a product and why?

I'm looking to launch my first large IM product at some point in the near future.

What do you think is the best day to launch and IM product and why?

Does the release day make a huge amount of difference to the sales volume? Also how important is the time of the month? For example will releasing just after pay day make a big difference to sales volume?

Anys tips n tricks appreciated,

Marco

Our whole mastermind crew has agreed and seen relatively
similar numbers that show us Sunday afternoons seem to be
the best day for webinars and Thursday mornings seem to
be the best day for emails.

WSO's tend to do better on Monday's though with a bump
on Thursday afternoon for max sales in a week.

I've found the day before Friday to be my best also. Don't know why.

I usually schedule launches between tues-thursday but I also look at the big picture and try not to put it too close to major holidays or even on common school vacation weeks (in the US).

    Today.

Seriously, I used to get really worried about this and mess around with posting and bumping and launching and relaunching at all kinds of days and dates and times.

Did I get some results? Yeah!

Were they mind-blowing, earth-shattering results that could make or break your product's sales?!

    HELL, NO.

Statistically, all variations were within standard deviation. Didn't make a difference. I could point at an extra $50 here and and extra $100 there, but honestly? Differences were like 3% to 8% at most.

All things being equal, I just wish I could get back the time I wasted on it.

For some reason or another, Wednesday's outperform any other day of the week for me. Don't know why that is, but I'm sure there isn't any "voodoo" or rocket science behind it. Probably more or less a coincidence.

Anyway, I agree with CD - Just get the product out there in front of people now, rather than wait.

Wednesdays and Thursdays I would say. Saturdays are the worst by far in my opinion.

    TODAY! cos tomorrow never comes...

Honestly though, I don't think it matters that much to be honest, but depending on your target market you might wanna keep in mind if they have money in the pocket, have they recently been paid or are they waiting for a paycheck, you know... general stuff like that.

Right after a holiday season, after christmas and dates like that won't be advisable for obvious reasons, but which day of the week is the best I think you could be better off analyzing other data as this might not be as significant of a question to ask.

My maximum sales day was a Friday. "I'll read this over the weekend", say my buyers. I didn't have much success bumping on a weekend.

    Cheers,

I don't really think the "Day" of the launch make any difference at all. It's really how you going to promote it and how well you're known in the business. From previous experience, we go through a few stages before we launch a product. We go research our competition first and spy them with what product they are launching and what kind of offer they are going to introduce on the launch day. This can be in terms of Special Launch Offers, giveaways, discount structure for a limited time etc etc...

Then we create a plan of attack and how we going to promote the product.

But for an online product launch, it really doesn't matter unless someone gives you a solid fact or statistics that a product launch is good to be launched on such and such day...

But if you are going to introduce a large IM product I suggest partnering up with the known affiliate marketers who will introduce your product. (But I think you will have to pay them to do this). This way you are creating your own image quickly by using someone else who are already well known.

      Thanks for your feedback guys.

The guys who said just bring the product out. I agree. Taking action is the primary key. But of course, taking logical action is always the best. So if there is a best day, it's worth knowing about!

If anyone else has any suggestions feel free to contribute.

      Cheers,

It's funny, I see replies mentioning (or seem to be alluding to) WSO and yet the OP did not say wso

Best day to launch a product is when it is finished and you have some kinda sales page up for it (if this is your first product).

    Why?

Sooner you launch, the sooner you can start collecting data, refine your funnels and your offers, collecting names, and get on to figuring out what mistakes you made sooner so you don't do those things on your next launch.

I think that there is no true day that is best. It really depends. Are you going to be promoting with affiliates or just putting a WSO up and letting it run? Saturday afternoon and sunday afternoon are good days but you just have to test for yourself.

I'm going to make a couple of inferences based upon how you worded your question. Since you used the phrase "my first large IM product" and not "my first big IM product launch" I think you mean you have a big product you want to offer to the public, not that you have planned a "big" launch for it.

You also said you plan to launch this sometime in the near future.

A "big" full blown product launch must be planned months in advance. You can't put one together in a matter of days. I know people use the term "product launch" here on the WF, but personally, I don't consider running a WSO as a product launch... it's a paid ad for a product.

If you mean you are going to run it as a WSO, I'm not sure it matters too much. If you've got a good product, a good ad, a good subject line, a product people want, a good price, and some kind of proof that it will work... then it will sell anytime. I don't like weekends, but that's me, some people swear by them (more so Saturdays than Sundays).

A "major" IM related product launch in the big world out there involves bringing in JV partners to mail for you in your pre-launch and launch periods. Big launches almost always have some kind of JV contests with cash and or prizes for top-performing affiliates. There is almost always a contest for top selling affiliates, but there are also often contests for the affiliates sending the most leads to a pre-launch opt-in page a week or so before the actual launch.

The big guys doing IM product launches (outside of the WF) almost always prefer Tuesdays for a number of reasons. Wed. and Thursday probably are next best. A Friday product launch can easily fizzle over the weekend. And Mondays are "getting back to work days" and don't work as well. I don't know of many Internet marketers who would want to launch a product on the weekend.

Again, I think you are talking about running a WSO. You can make very good money if your product has the characteristics I gave above--but the very most successful WSOs often make many of their sales because the product vendor has a significant subscriber list they promote their product to, and--they have others promoting their WSO as affiliates.

Just some thoughts. But good luck. Hope you make a killing! --Mike
