Not to point out the obvious, but a big part of marketing yourself as a brand (if that's what you're into) is making people like you. Who does it the best?

Which Internet Marketer Would You Most Like to Have a Beer With?

Because you made the first post in the thread, which was (therefore) at the time also the last post, and your name appeared on the right as well as underneath the heading, I initially read it as "Which Internet Marketer Would You Most Like To Have A Beer With - Ron Douglas?" and instinctively thought "Yes, actually that would do nicely for me".

Not only because you'd be a very good internet marketer to have a beer with, but also because you're a bestselling author (even more interesting, for me), and because I know we've disagreed in the past about a couple of small points and that always makes for a good beer, too (from my perspective, anyway, so I could try to work out why).

So you answered it for me, just by asking.

  • In no particular order, except ladies first.

    Tiffany Dow
    Paul Myers
    Big Mike
    Kevin Riley
    Sam Stephens

The thing they all have in common, beyond the fact that they are all exceptional, customer oriented marketers, is that they are all very genuine people.

  • Ron,

I think you have a pretty good handle on things. You would be one I pick... Don't drink beer though, but that wouldn't matter.

Really, almost all of my clients would fall into that category.

    Dave Perdew
    Doug Hudiburg
    Rob Toth
    Sean Gallagher
    Liz Tomey
    Stephanie Mulac
    Sid Hale

    and the list goes on.

Quite a few of the members here too. Great people to interact with.

    Thanks,

    John

    • None of them. If you can't handle some hard liquor then you will just not be fun enough. :p

Actually, I've been fortunate enough to belly up to the virtual bar with a few mentioned. But Alexa isn't on that list, so I may have to arrange a girls night out with her.

  • To name a few:

    Eric Louviere
    Frank Kern
    That Ron Douglas guy
    Frank Garon
    Johnny Slater
    Sam Stephens
    Josh Anderson
    Jason Fladien
    Eben Pagan
    Craig Clemens
    Paul Myers
    Dave Mizrachi
    Dr. Mani
    Willie Crawford
    Ed Dale
    Tony Robbins
    John Rogers
    Chris Sutton
    Andy Havens
    Anna Johnson
    Corey Friedman
    Allen Graves
    Alexandria Brown
    Jeremy Kelsall
    Kevin Riley
    Jonathan Mizel
    The RSD Crew

All these marketers have helped me in one way, shape or form, and have found them to be down-to-earth and real in my dealings with them. I've already had a few brewskies with some of them.

    • Dude, stud, mac daddy, man, I was in Cali for 2 weeks and you are the only person I contacted to meet up and have a beer with. I'll be there soon again since Bill McIntosh is my partner out there and lives in Orange County. maybe next time?

Also -- just an FYI -- as this is quite important, but I'd just like to acknowledge, that my name is indeed listed *above* Frank Kern's.

    • True, but only in the short term-with all the marketing gems that would be dropping at that party, it's an easy tax write-off
    • If I had to choose just one… Willie Crawford

He has probably had the biggest impact on my business even though I have never actually met him in person.

So, it would be more so I could look him in the eye, shake his hand and say thank you for everything you've done for me.

  • I can't think of anyone I wouldn't want to have a beer with.

Or a glass of wine. Or a bottle of whisky. Or rum. Or vodka. Or gin.

What the hell, if there's going to be drinking, go ahead and count me in.
    • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • I drink alone, yeah with nobody else.

You know when I drink alone, I prefer to be by myself...

    Ken

  • This is a good question. Are we assuming that bud light, budweiser, miller light, and coors light count as beers, or are we calling them rice water, which is what they really are?

I, myself, would only share a beer with those internet marketers that have respect and love for the darker porters and, of course the best beer ever brewed, Guinness.

    Benjamin Ehinger
  • Frank Kern and Joel Comm
  • Allen, Terry Dean, Frank Kern, and I'd add Dan Kennedy but he might be cranky at being called an Internet Marketer.

    • I would have to say Caliban Darklock. I get the feeling it would be like
talking with my long lost brother of another mother.

Unfortunately, I don't drink anymore. My band playing days and almost turning
into an alcoholic put an end to that many years ago.

So it would have to be either bottled water or some ginger herb tea.

Oh by the way Caliban, I lost my voice due to my latest bout with whatever
the f*ck I just had so you may be on your own Friday.

  • The one who gets drunk the easiest and then spills all the beans on how they actually do so well with internet marketing :-)
  • In my short time here I have learned a lot from the posts of John Durham and Paul Uhl (myob). I'd like to BS with both of them and get their take on things.
  • I would have to say David Guindon! He was the reason i got involved in the IM world in the first place so i would like to buy him some beer to personally thank him for that. Then definitely with Joel Comm,Ed Dale,Eben Pagan and Jason Fladlien! These guys are geniuses!
  • Alexa Smith.

    She's hot.
  • Rosalind Gardner
    Alexa Smith

..c'mon, if I get to sit in bar and drink, it's gonna be with women.

  • With the exception of Paul Myers and Allen I'm intending to have beers with a lot of IM'ers at the 3rd annual Warrior event in June. And since I'm not running the show this time I'm hoping to actually get to network (and have a few beers) with folks like you Ron and the rest.
    See you all in June!

Well, there are many people i would like to meet and have a beer together:

Roger(Exrat), Jeremy Kelsall, Michael(Direstraits), Alexa Smith, Paul (paulie888) and Michael Oksa.

Regard Michael Oksa,i always read with pleasure his genuine, sincere posts.

Anyway, would be very nice to have a "live" discussion with you.

      All the best,
      Devid
      • [ 3 ] Thanks
  • None of the usual suspects. I would like to drink brews with the peeps who were behind the marketing of Facebook, Ebay, Amazon, Clickbank, CJ, Neverblue, etc.

Those are the REAL big dogs... but most likely you've never heard of them.
    • [ 2 ] Thanks
  • Probably have to be my age range for my liking. Which would include:

    Daniel Brock
    George Brown
    Alex shelton
    Alexa Smith

    And so forth...

Unfortunately no marketing talk would happen because I'd be too busy trying to setup a game of touch cup to get the group trollied off vodka

Some one always ends up having such a bad game they get so smashed that the rules start playing against them
    • [1] reply
    • In the US we call this quarters. Many of my college buddies insist that I've played this game but that I'm not very good at it. For the life of me I don't remember ever playing....

  • Post #2 in the thread. Fantastic writer, very smart, very witty, absolute expert on Clickbank.

But the massive sex appeal of her avatars undoubtedly plays no part whatsoever in people wanting to have a drink with her.

    • Good question, Ron.

Like Caliban, I'd be happy to have a beer with anyone on the forum - but they'd have to promise not to talk about marketing. :p

Certainly, any of the regulars down in the WF's own virtual basement bar (aka The OT forum) would do just fine.

      Frank
      • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Definitely Russell Brunson.

Notas well known as some of the above mentioned but i back the "under dogs" so to speak

Plus he is completely transparent in his approach. Down to earth

    • Eben Pagan.
    • Ron Douglas for sure!
    • Frank Kern & Jason Moffatt.

I think im going to start a thread called "which internet marketer would you like to punch in the face?"
      • [2] replies
    • Kevin Riley, Eben Pagan, Craig Clemens, Paul Myers, Sean Gallagher, Dr. Mani, Willie Crawford, Rob Toth, Dave Mizrachi
    • None, I don't drink beer.

  • For sure, CDarkLock - He just seems cool.
Matt Carter - I've learned a lot from his free stuff, and he doesn't seem too cheesy
Dan Brock - I actually have had the pleasure of knockin' back a few with him and he's super funny. Plus he's laid back and wasn't trying to sell me on S all night.
    • [1] reply
  • he is my list

    Eric Louviere
    Mike Filsaine
    Ron Douglas
    Johnny Slater
    Sam Stephens
    Jason Fladien
    Willie Crawford
    Jeremy Kelsall
    Kevin Riley
    Lee McIntyre
  • There are MANY internet marketers that I would like to have a beer with. But if I have to choose just one I'd say Jason Moffatt seems like a cool dude to hang out with.
  • Great Choice...............
  • I'm going to add Jimmy D. Brown to my tequila shot list. I bought some old cassette tapes on e-mail marketing from him a few years ago (the information is still very relevant in today's marketing world) and he was one of the nicest, down-to-earth marketers I've ever talked to.

Since then, his e-mails have always had the same tone. I don't know if he drinks, but I'd slam some shots with him.

    RoD
  • Matt Bacak he seems very easy to get in touch with and he has some good material.
    • [1] reply
    • Although he passed away in 2005 - I would say Corey Rudl. Bought his two white notebooks and haven't been the same since. Owe him several truckloads of something. That's why if you have someone you want to thank (or share a drink with) you should do it.

  • With no doubt Frank Kern, but I am pretty sure that I will finish paying the bill and I am quite sure it would be HUGE lol

  • Anyone who's buying! definitely Alexa and Ron though!
  • Andre Chaperon.

Learned so much from his stuff.

    Travis Sago also!
  • I would like a beer with you
  • Tony Robbins, Robert Kiyosaki and Tim Ferriss please
  • I've had a lot of beers with a lot of different Internet marketers. Is it possible to remove some from my past and get that time back? Some of these guys that you think are mad geniuses are actually off their rockers.
    • [1] reply
    • Brian there are certainly worse things to be.

The view could be interesting from that perspective, too.

  • Probably have to be, in not really any particular order:
    Ron Douglas
    Eric Louviere
    Kevin Riley
    Paul Meyers
    Alexa Smith
    Willie Crawford
    Frank Kern
    Eban Pagen

As for the drink, either some kind of amber malt or Herradura, all by it's lonesome. I Rarely drink anymore though, but I'd surely make an exception for this crowd.
  • JAMES SCHRAMKO

Ive been wanting to have a social get together with James ever since meeting him years ago at WIS. Very grounded bloke, seems quite genuine and sincere.

James if you read this, Ive just moved to Sydney mate, PM ME.

PS - Alexa Smith. But I doubt thered be much talking about IM

  • With Ron Douglas!
  • I am gunna say frank kern...and he is probably going to see this due to google alerting his name. So I will say frank kern again. LOL.

he just seems like a happy go lucky dude, or maybe he just drinks alot and does not know what day it is. Hence why i need to have a beer with him...so I can find out.
    • [1] reply
    • I'm with you on this, Gerald. He just seems like the sort of person I could see myself sitting down with over beers, and having both a fun and productive time.

I also feel that I'd be able to learn a lot from him about the particular areas in internet marketing that I'm interested in, so he'd definitely be my first choice.

The second thing is that he will not give you 10 different types of products that not connoted to each other
I've even buy him a beer in order to sit with him

  • The marketer I would most like to have a beer with is Ron Douglas. I would want to ask him how he managed to get that deal with Simon & Schuster because that is also one of my goals and I believe you can learn a lot from someone who has already done what you want to do.

    • Finnaly someone that speaks my language
    • Wow ...

I shudder to imagine the sheer, immeasurable scale of intense, collective disappointment that'd surround this thread (and, indeed, probably plague the whole forum) if Alexa were to come and announce that she's actually averse to the idea of drinking alcohol. And even more so when trying to get my head round the frightful intensity of a good number of its participants' hangovers, when they drink to excess in a vain effort to drown their resultant sorrows. :p

Don't fail us, Alexa!! There are just too many hopes, dreams and fragile souls at stake, here.
    • Only hope that it will not be 100% of the market talking! Too much on the subject on a daily basis. In fact, I had the honor of ringing back a few with him and his super funny. Coupled with his easy-going, is not trying to sell me all night S.
  • Hmmm,

    - Frank Kern
    - Kelly Felix. He's a goldmine of straight up, no bull marketing knowledge
    - Seth Godin (he'd probably drink organic green tea). Such a unique mind

Ultimately, it'd be Frank, as not only is he one of my marketing hero's, he also likes booze, hip hop and surfing. Oh, and he thought the '99 Problems...' back tattoo I got on the day of my divorce was cool. Thanks Frank!
  • I would say Steve Pavlina....Not only did his posts inspired me to make massive leaps in every aspect of my life but he really pioneered multiple streams of income before most of the other bloggers started doing so.
  • Charlie Sheen
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Kevin Riley because I could have Sushi too....

Has anyone heard from him since the Japan crisis?
    • [2] replies
    • Yes, he and his wife are doing just fine.

      @ Eric Louviere:

Yes, next time you're in LA or the OC, hit me up. It would be cool to have some drinks and shoot the breeze with ya.

      RoD
    • Well, I think he posted in here recently about being fine in Osaka, as he's far away enough not to be affected by the fallout.

With Kevin, I'd rather have some fresh sushi, sashimi, and a great big bottle of sake.
  • Eric "My Man" Louviere... for sure..
  • There are so many Gurus and newRUs on my list that I erased them all. Most of the gurus on my list would be because I want to ask them how the Heck they managed to fool so many people for so long! The rest would be because I like their work and think they would be cool to hang with over a beer.
  • Having a beer with... hmmm... Jeremy Kelsall & Matt Furey. I like hanging with straight-shooters who "say it like it is" and don't sugarcoat things. The list would be huge if it was business related.

    Michelle
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Katie Freiling.. Oh you know why.
  • Terry Dean, Jimmy Brown, Chris Farrell, and Ryan Lee.
  • My list would need to include....

    Travis Sago
    Ed Dale
    Paul Myers
    Dan Raine
    John Schwartz
    Mark Zuckerberg
    Michael Dell
    Larry Page
    Jack Canfield (Does he qualify?)
    Frank Kern

The real challenge would be getting them all into the same bar at the same time...now that could be an interesting brainstorming session. (Then I'd still want to sneak in a few of my online marketing buddies to join in the fun....) It might be cheaper to get a keg and a cute waitress....
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Mark Zuckerberg
    Larry Page
    Sergey Brinn
    Mark Cuban
    Pierre Omidyar
    Peter Thiel
    Nik Zinnstrom
    Jack Ma
    Jeff Bezos
    Tony Hsieh
    Marc Andreesen

    • You've got a great point. GO BIG, or go home!

    • Not everyone on that list is what most of us would define as an 'internet marketer', but I'd happily settle for a beer with any one on there - these are the real heavy hitters that we could learn a lot from!

      Paul
  • I would give my left _______ to sit down with Allens Says for a couple of hours, and learn how to make my forum blow up like this! Plus I just think he would HAVE to be an interesting person to chat with! Its obvious that he is wise and brilliant... funny too.

As far as making forums Blow Up Michael Hiles is Brilliant too, be he is fortunately accessable to a privileged few!

My second would be Paul Myers... then Ron it wwould be you because I just know we would be having some red lobster style biscuits with that beer!
  • I would say a UK marketer by the name of "Stuart Ross". Why? Cause I would love to throw my pint as well as his over mug. Simple as.

In terms of consuming my beer, I would say, Mark Ling. That guy has helped me alot.
  • Jim Yaghi,
    Eric McMillan
  • Jeff Paul and Kevin Trudeau.

I'd be DD for a change. Get those two drunk, then drop them off in the lobby of the FTC.

  • Matt Carter is the best Guru for me. He share everything he knows about making money online on his blog. Good Job here Matt. I love to have beer with you LOL
  • Since everyone here seems to be dreaming about chillin' with the gooroo's:

    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I would go old-school with Corey Rudl, but unfortunately he passed away in 2005.

My next choice would most definitely be Allen Says.

There are dozens of IMers here at the forum I would certainly like to talk with at length, but those would be my Top 2, for sure.

If any of you ever happen to be in the Cincinnati/tri-state area, let me know! I know some great places for beer and food.

Good question though but not too hard to answer I got a few guys I'd like to get drunk with...

#1- Tim Buchalka- Just a nice person, very helpful and smart too. Seems like the kind of guy who doesn't want to live up to the Guru name, seems like a guy who enjoys more than just one beer.

#2- Felix Kelly- The jerk himself, he comes out as rough and obnoxious but deep down inside he's a pretty nice guy (don't tell him I said that). Besides, he could get me the expensive imports :p

#3- Mike Lantz- Not trying to kiss-butt here but who wouldn't??

    • Matt Carter
      Andrew Hansen
      Dan Brock

I could introduce them to Lagunitas, either Hop Stoopid or Little Sumpin sumpin ale. Unless they've already tried it, of course.
  • Who are you guys kidding? I would have a beer with anyone who is paying. I am Aussie after all. It doesn't necessarily mean I would talk to you though.
  • Probably the following:

    Eben Pagan
    Tim Ferriss
    Rich Schefren
    Frank Kern
    Jay Abraham
  • Well, let me be tellin you how the old bomiska flops...

I would set down with ole Mr. Scratch hisself if he was a drinkin moonshine!

Lots a you folks have been mentionin Kevin Riley and I wants you to be knowin somethin. I had Mr. Riley down here on the farm a while back an all he wanted to do was be wonderin around behind the little critters! I'm not so's sure I'd want to be havin too many drinks with him! He DID have a sip a shine with me and he passed plumb out before it hit his belly! The only liquor that there feller can hold is his tongue!

Now as far as any folks in the WF goes, I thank I would have me a sit down with Mr. Paul Myers an sip a little shine! I thank he could even handle a sip or two! Now, the only fork in the road with that is that I am afraid that after he started feelin a bit whooptydooed, all he would want to be doin is be watchin Dr. Who episodes on the tellie! Been's we don't have no electricity around these here parts, I am afraid poor old mama would wear herself out hand crankin that there hand cranked generator!

As for wimmin folk here in the WF, I am thankin I would want to be havin a sip with that there Subbacariel. Have you seen that there gal's picture? DANG, I shore would be swappin tabacky juice with her any ole time!

  • Didn't even have to think about this one...

I'd love to sit down and have a brewskie with Andre Chaperon. Very genuine and down to earth guy who gives it to ya straight. No nonsense. Nothing.

The guy's a class act, and putting aside the fact that I've learned a ton from him, his personality and willingness to help puts him above the rest in my opinion.
  • I would like to have a beer with:

    Brad Gosse
    Ron Douglas

These two internet marketers are genuine people, have fantastic ideas and are ones I feel I'd connect with.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I like to drink with every "push button" product creators. I want to see how they can generate millions by pushing a button from their products that they sold....If they can't prove to me then I will have to push their head instead...

    Qamar
  • I will pick three.
Frank Kern- I think it would be fun to hang out with him.
Jimmy D. Brown -not sure he drinks beer, but one of the smartest IM'ers I know
Eben Pagan- He seems pretty good at all of this. (understatement)
  • I don't really know, but Brad Callen has always been somebody I've looked up on. I'd like to have been with him .
  • Hmm, I'd like to take all of you out for a beer, to meet the old and experienced, but also the young writers on Warrior forum .

    Hugs,
    Roxana
  • Ryan Deiss for me.

    • He's definitely one of the good guys - one of the "anti-gurus" that bucks the trend of employing deceptive marketing tactics and ridiculous pricing.

    • I actually had one beer with Armand Morin a few years ago and it was a very nice experience. Real guy, no bs.

There are a few other names that come to my mind, but I'd like to spend a few hours with Marlon Sanders. I like his "old school" way. (Probably because I am old school too)

Currently I am following a lot to Jason Fladlien (Jason you got me!), he is relatively new, but definitely A league.

And if "not strictly Internet Marketing" works, the most interesting expert I have ever listened to is Jay Abraham (it was the only thing worth at the Dan Kennedy seminar, frankly).
  • what about peter
    CEO of yeahCPA?
  • I know they're the obvious ones but Frank Kern, Tony Robbins and Brendon Burchard would be my choice

    • Tony Robbins is an internet marketer? Since when?

  • Interesting read, this is turning into a nice Hall of Fame ...
  • I don't know exactly if I'd want to have a beer with him, but I'd really love to meet Aaron Wall and learn a thing or two from him. I don't really understand why nobody here seems to talk about him but the dude's basically a genius. His blog is brilliant and I can't understand for the life of me how he's able to pump them out so frequently.
  • This is soooo true. I am still a newbie(ish) but I have noticed that people like Kim Roach or Chris Farrell are very well liked but their subscribers. This was very much obvious on a recent webinar where people wanted to send a birthday card to Kim Roach.
  • Actually, there are lots of best Internet Marketer around and you one of them Ron. Your inputs help a lot to individual who wanted to be an internet marketer.
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • I would definitely say Tiffany Dow, because I love her work. If I had to pick a second it would be Ed Dale from The Challenge.
  • If given a chance, it would be Mr. John Jonas for a very obvious reason...
