How much would you be willing to pay for a quality proofreader?

I am trying to market on the skills I already have, and I am just curious to know how much people would generally be willing to pay for quality proofreading? (Including fixing spelling mistakes, grammar and punctuation)
Somewhere around 15c per word? is that too steep? too low?
Or perhaps would it be better to charge, say, per 1000 words?
