So This Babe Walks Into A Bar...

I had this customer of mine from 3 years ago contact me recently.
He said he had got a blueprint ebook I wrote years ago and that
it made him get serious about making money online, etc etc

He went on to say that he basically wanted to step it up and
really start bringing in the cash big time...

He then mentioned how much money he's making (almost six figures).

So, I responded and asked him how he's currently making that money.
(I was thinking, if it's an info product, to add in upsells, high ticket, etc)

He just replied and he said:

"I just did what you said I created a squeeze page and put my
work into traffic conversions managing the subsribers"

So, this guy has no product (I dont think). Is not running
around like a chicken with his head cut off, bouncing from
one scheme to the next to the next.

He's not focused on 1,000 different things. Just one. His list.
And is making near six figures per year.

++++++++++++++

Step One: Find a niche market where you can sell lots
and lots of different things to the same customers.

Step Two: Go to ezine articles or elsewhere and find
killer articles on your niche. contact the article authors
and ask if you can use their article in a free PDF you give away.
(you can also embed videos in the PDF too).

--BTW-- I dont even ask, I just copy and paste. but, ask
to play it safe.

Step Three: Copy and paste all those articles into a
document (include the links and resource box of course)
and turn the doc into a PDF.

Step Four: Craft a squeeze page that gives away that
free PDF. (this will be an ongoing tweaking process to get
the conversions up higher on opt in rate)

Step Five: Find affiliate offers for your niche and sign up
as an affiliate.

Step Six: Set up 10 to 50 auto-responder emails ahead of
time. Some of the emails need to give free tips and info and
some need to pitch (just sell baby)
(this too will be an ongoing tweaking process)

Step Seven: Drive traffic (this will be an ongoing tweaking
process as well)

If you spend 95% of your time focused on the above steps,
you will make six figures. If you never quit and stay focused
on this through thick and thin... never quit... keep tweaking
and improving, you'll make six figures... GUARANTEED!

++++++++

Traffic: Find sites in your niche that get good traffic and offer
advertising. Contact them for their rate card. Negotiate their
fees. Run a test run with a banner or text ad or solo ad, whatever.

Start small. Grow from there. End of game, you win.

Traffic: Paid traffic, start small, grow from there. PPC, CPV, solo
ads, etc.

Once you have 1,000 subscribers (not set in stone of course, could
be less)... reach out to other sites that have a list and strike a list
swap. I'll send you 300 clicks if you send me 300 clicks. Wash and
repeat.

Eventually, you'll have a list of 5,000+ subscribers. From there it
snowballs and you'll look back and say..."why the heck doesn't everyone
do this? why do they make it so hard on themselves?"

Then, you'll realize... "Oh, most people dance around, bounce around,
from one thing to the other... and are chasing 1,000 different things,
instead of focusing in on one".

Wow! build a list! automated income. Epic Genius.

    It almost sounds TOO easy.

Good for him, though. It just goes to show that patience and persistence are the key ingredients.

The fundamentals never go out of style...they just get pushed to the back of the room by the new shiny objects everyone gloms on.

This business is very simple, for all the reasons you mentioned. It doesn't have to be complicated.

For me the first six-figure year was the hardest, so much wasted time on nonsense and bouncing from program to program...But once the breakthrough happened it was simply repetition and scaling past that point.

    Good post E.

Do yourself a favor and get on one of Eric's lists. Study how his emails read, how they flow, how they transition from content to offer pitch. He's too modest to toot his own horn, but it's genius. I would add that to his list above... because the difference between making a modest income from a big list and making a big income from a modest list is all in how you craft your messages to your subscribers.

He doesn't know it, but I learned more studying Eric's emails than from any other source when it comes to list communication and marketing savvy. I started implementing a couple of the tactics he uses and whatta ya know... I started converting more readers into buyers and getting fewer unsubscribers.

haha, you guys bit on the "honey badger" fame. That little booger is a terror. My partners and I have an ongoing joke type thing with the "honey badger" going.. it came for the video of the guy saying "Honey badger does not give a chit"... (the one Cali posted above).

Basically, the short form of the story was I told my partner Bill McIntosh that he has the biggest "killer instinct" out of anyone I've ever met. (no wonder he makes a fortune in business). He goes for what he wants and shoots big. He does not let anything get in the way. That's admirable and I dont hand out props like that easily.

I said, "You're a freaking honey badger man... you dont give a chit. You are vigilant". lol

Makes me want to click his sig and buy the same product our mystery $100k man bought.

The thread is sig spam. The story is fictitious. It's a creative way of saying "Don't have any skills? Don't even want to create a product? Well I have a bizop just for you!" Since the mods quickly remove obvious spam, sellers come up with these style threads instead.

You're saying I'm spamming? That's funny right there. Idiotic more like it... What would a thread get... about 200 to 600 views or so... You're talking about 10 clicks or so. A Squeeze Page converts well if it's converting at 35% and we're talking 3 subscribers maybe?

Add in that those 3 subscribers are "WF visitors" (like you!) and I can pretty much promise you that I could care less about *that* traffic. lol. Are you serious? And yes, true story and I've happened to have helped a few people over the years.

Get a clue troll, change the way you see the world, change the way you filter your world, change the way you think, and maybe you will become happy... or even successful... some day... to the point where you can even use your real name, instead of: DubDubDubDot which I think is just short for "troll"... (or idiot, not sure which yet)

You have a long history of creating self promotional threads and have had more than a few shut down by mods.

The threads are always very similar. You go for the inspirational angle and drill it home that people can make six or seven figures per year by selling info products online. These pep talks often include bashing other perfectly sound methods as being a waste of time. So the connection between the threads and your bizops on how to sell info products is pretty obvious to anyone who's been around the block once or twice.

But hey, me, the idiot troll and the mods who shut the threads down are just haters. Right?

Eric has done far more and provided far more information to this forum than you ever have so put all that negative energy into something useful instead of jumping on people's threads complaining that it just isn't fair.

I don't consider fictitious stories backed by theoretical ways for total newbies to make six or seven figures online to be worthwhile. They serve only to rile up newbies and get them to do things that are not in their own best interest.

We are all familiar with the term "build a relationship" in sales. Unfortunately there exists a group of people within the bizop game who have taken this concept and twisted it into something called a confidence trick.

Confidence trick - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

On every major forum where there are newbies, there are threads posted that act as relationship building confidence tricks. It is very unfortunate that the creators of the threads are often regarded as esteemed members of the community, when in reality they are playing the community like a harp.

I think many people recognize who they are, but say nothing. They need to be stomped out for the health of the community.

What is wrong with an entertaining story to drive home a point or valuable lesson? You need to put down the conspiracy theory books and take note of maybe Eric's actually contributing in a positive manner for the greater good of the community. Now there's an idea!

If a person isn't allowed to share their knowledge in an entertaining way then what's the point of a discussion forum? Oh yeah so people can gripe, moan and complain all day long.

Answer me this... If by your standards people aren't able to share knowledge that they know just because they are in that particular market what do you suppose is a good alternative? People are quick to slam others but never have a solution.

If a person shares his knowledge, tips, experiences, etc. then they deserve the recognition of a job well done.

I'm not suggesting that people don't share knowledge on forums.

The alarming issue is the number of people that post to business forums for the sole purpose of promoting themselves at the expense of the flow of genuine information on the forum.

When you introduce profit motives to everyday discussion, those discussions are a race to the bottom. Shared knowledge shifts from being legitimate towards instead being fictitious and part of an overall marketing plan by the poster to increase his professional visibility.

And no, this stuff isn't just a conspiracy theory as you'd like to believe. It's happening, and people who've been treading water for years need to start learning how to spot it.

Great post, i love the idea behind this, and love the idea of stiking with what you are doing instead of chasing dragons.

    Money is IN the list...

This is the easiest IM model one can follow (with patience and consistency) to get wonderful results in relatively less time.

    Plenty of fish for hunting.

    Hey Eric

Great post! I am going to confess I suffered from years from shiny object syndrome - but they shiny objects were my 'cool ideas' rather than tempting WSOs. Now I am focusing on exactly what you said. A full time job, a long commute and a baby have forced me to consider how I use the minimal free time to maximum effect. Paid traffic and squeeze pages can be setup with very little time input from me so it seems the way to go.

great post, even if you go back to the early 1900's marketing and doing well and has always done well by...

Creating a customer lists, and sellilng stuff to them...

I do not expect that to change, and I do not know why newbies go looking for the next thing!! Aint gunna happen.

    Stick to the fundamentals baby...yeah.

    Great post eric lad.
