So you can never edit a title...?

In this new version of WF, when you edit your post and change the title...it only changes the title on the inside of the thread itself, not the outside?

For example, if you make a spelling or grammar mistake in the title of your thread or WSO and then edit it, the misspelled title will still be the one displayed in the main area of that forum.

I know its the way that VBulletin operates but...

Is there a way around this?

Hmm...Oh well, it is by no means the end of the world.
The WF still rocks the house down!

    Shane and everyone else,

Click on edit and once that opens click on go advanced. Now you can edit the title!

That's right....but it will not change the title on the main page. The edited title will only be viewable once you open the thread.

The only area where this does present a problem is with WSOs.

As you know, many people test WSO titles. If one doesn't work, they will change to a different one. So this almost forces us to pick one and hope that it pulls the best. Not the most scientific way of testing titles.

Oh well, I guess it's going to force us to really work hard on our copywriting techniques.

But since we can't renew WSOs, we get a chance to test new headlines every few days when we resubmit our WSO to get it back on tip.

              Steve,

Once it gets past page 2 we have to create a brand new one. So you can still test, you just have to do it slowly.

That then makes me wonder, when you post the new one, is the old one deleted or will we end up with a bunch of duplicate WSOs past page 2???

Every day I check the obituaries. If I don't see my name there, then I know it's going to be a good day!

That's a great question Allen...Perhaps the "[CLOSED]" method will still work?

It would be most ethical IMO.

      Thanks for the info Grant.

However, in your thread you show people how to change their headline (which is helpful to those who don't know how to already), but what you may not realize that it does not get changed on the main WSO forum -- where people just browse through all the headlines/titles.
It only changes the title on the inside of the ad, where it shows the title in small letters above the post. Again, it's not THAT big of a deal, just different from before.
