Getting Facebook Friends

So, here is my issue, I wanted to increase the friends that I have on my Facebook page that I primarily use to my promotions and to meet like minded people. So, I started to send friend requests to friends of my friends and now Facebook has blocked me from send more for two days. Lesson learned there. Anyhow, what are some methods to increase my friends while staying in line with FB TOS?

Thanks
Clint

Your content probably isn't that good...

If you have good stuff, the friends will come knocking at your door...

I know this isn't exactly going to grow things super fast but I include my Facebook link in email signatures and things like that. I'm really not pushing Facebook but trying to grow it organically.

You can increase your fan page friends by just buying them fan page services where you can get real targetted fans.

I thought about this option, I have seen tons of services that offer this, but was curious how targeted they might be.

Is there anyone here who has used these services?

"Bribe" them with something useful: offer them something to join you.

Buy something old at EBay and run a contest.

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

Contests are a great way to get interaction from the web, what a great idea to get something off of Ebay.

I am going to have to implement that, or perhaps overstock.com

Here's something I suggest. Do NOT send them
link to your FB page. Send them a link to a website
that has an IRRESISTIBLE contest, to enter in which
they must join your FB page, and comment there.

    What say?

I actually tried this one, but like most internet marketing areas on the web, there is not much other than other people looking to promote their ads so I haven't had much luck.

As an answer to this I created my own groups called 'Internet Marketing Forum' and I am able to post a back link a day and a niche a day for my members, hopefully it will work out and grow.

Your FB profile has friends... try not to build a list of fans there.

For that they have a feature called FanPage. And once you start using that feature, there is no limit to the number of people who can follow you. The question you need to ask is- how do you start getting fans?

And the way to do that is- advertise your products, sell your products, make money and deliver value. Once people see that value, then all that needs to happen is- they need to know you have a fanpage. They will like it if they like you, right?

P.S. I hate when a "friend" asks me to attend a webinar, especially when it is the first time they are writing something on my wall. FB is a tool for meeting up with old friends (and new ones too). But if you haven't realized, they tend to suspend accounts that send out friend requests to random people.

Try not to fool them ( or Google )... those companies hire real smart people. I know, because some of their top employees are very good friends of mine... from my college.

Oh, and by the way... FB can sell you traffic real cheap if you know how... and can give you some real low cost, yet high quality optins.

The tool is called FB ad manager. You might want to get your own rep. That tool literally is a goldmine right now. Kinda like Adwords in 2004.

I use my list for that purpose. You can simply download your lists email address into an excel document, then export that document into Facebook. It automatically sends friend requests for me. I do it all the time with no problems at all.

I'm having a similar problem that seems a bit chicken and egg.
I need FB friends to promote a site, but I need a site to promote to FB friends.
Where does it all end- or start- or end- aaaarrrrrghhhhh!!!!

You can use FamousBook for that. It's been up for so long now and helped growing a lot of pages and profiles on FB.

You can get it on Hawkode.com

Honestly, trying to get people you know to be your "friend" when it comes to IM is basically impossible. You have to think about the number of people who still think that IM is a big scam, and no matter what you say there is just no convincing them. In addition, you have to think about the number of scams, viruses, etc. that have been run on Facebook.
