What to do with this domain?

Hello all.

I have a problem here.

On another forum there was a website sale going on, and I accidentally clicked on Buy it Now button (that was an auction), and thanks to my curiosity and stupidity I have a useless website (which I removed), and a domain name that is collecting dust.

The domain name is - DOWNLOADINGPCGAMES.COM


Anyway, I don't want to waste this domain, because I paid money for it, and I would like to capitalize on it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't need someone to provide me with a step by step plan or something, all I need is few rough ideas how could I monetize the domain.

In my newb's view - this particular domain is hard to monetize, that's why I need some help from here.

Any ideas what to do with it?

    Put up a WordPress blog, add some content and put it up for sale in DP or elsewhere and get the best price that you can for it. It's better to get rid of unused domains than renewing them each year.

    This is a hot niche. Sign up for some affiliate products. Just Google for the term “PC games affiliate programs” or something similar and you will find tons of them. Go over to Amazon and find some cool gaming stuff. Put up a simple blog and start promoting your affiliate products.



    Once you see some income flowing in go ahead and flip it or if the niche interests you then keep developing the blog.

      All in all I'd say you have a decent domain name here. I know a lot of the popular download sites like STEAM don't have affiliate programs but there are still other decent options to monetize this site.

      If you wanted to make it a mini-site type you can slap a Wordpress blog on it, add a few keyword relative posts, and toss adsense on the site. Gather a few months worth of earnings history and slap it on Flippa for a nice payday.

      Of you could use it as a larger authority site targeting individual games on inner pages. Either add some affiliate programs or just stick with adsense on each page.

      It might have been an unintended purchase but it's not all bad.

    Video games are a HUGE market, and the PC is just as viable as Xbox, Playstation or any other platform. I would set up a blog, do some reviews of new games, and monetize with any of a hundred different related products (PC-compatible gamepads, joysticks, etc.), including possible affiliations with the game manufacturers themselves.

    Yeah, buddy, I would hold on to that one for a while at least.

    Everyone is correct, that is a hot niche and you can potentially get a lot of type in traffic. You can always go to CNET and download free trials, upload to Dengee.net and make a free trials website and make some money from Dengee

    You'd prob make the most money that way... Amazon will pay at best 15% of a sale, even on a $50 game, that's $7.5 per game sold. Put them side by side, Get the free trial and if you LOVE the game, buy it now on special discount price!! Two steams of income on one site!! Also, some CPA networks do give $1-$5 per free game trial

    Hey Qrisso,

    Have you done your market research into whether there is actual money in that market? Is there traffic? Are there people advertising for PPC? If not you may want to put the domain up for sale and move on.


    No point entering a niche if there is no money in it
