Is it really possible to become rich (without work)?

Hey Warriors.

I was just browsing the WSO section, when I realized,
in the 3 pages that I read, most of the titles were something
like this:

Make money now. NO work, only income...

Or some variation of this.

I said to myself, "wow, 5 figures for "no work"... The
sales threads read like this: "Sit back, and collect your
payments..", "You earn for no work..". etc etc...

Personally, I feel this is all BS.

Just an example of my own self: I have been working
on this Amazon site I built for around 2 months now,
like all day and all night. Everything I do has something
to do with that site. Still, I am just able to cover the
domain's cost till now with that site.

So, I want to ask, if this really is possible? Or just
another BS? Just another gig to trap people into
buying products?

Karan

Not possible. Maybe in the long run, after you do all the groundwork and out source all the work.. but not for a while, no.

    • Yes if you win the lottery. Otherwise it's a pipe-dream. Yes you can get rich by doing less work than others, but there will always be some general input required upfront.

      • Lots and lots of work in the beginning. Did I say lots?

        Less work in the end.

Technically speaking, if you could get rich without any work - then nobody would be poor

The equation is simple: The amount of work you put in equals to the returns you get. Lesser the work, lesser the returns. No work, no returns.

P.S. You can get rich if you inherit millions, but then you'd probably end up all messed up like Paris Hilton, lol.

you can't get rich without any work. You need to do something. If you don't want to work then you need to pay someone to do it. But work is always involved.

But it's not like when you work 10 hours you get x amount of dollars. Especially in internet marketing it depends on many factors. The most important factor is to choose the right market.

When you have the right market you can get very good results with just a bit of work.
When you don't have the right market you can work for 3 months and still not seeing results. It depends really on very much factors.

But gettin rich without work is not possible. People who tell you something like this are bull****ting you.

Half of this forum (or more) is of the "get rich quick" mentality. It's sad.
I've heard it said that things come to you when you concentrate on what's important and stop trying so hard. It's paradoxical in nature but certainly true.

These are catchy lines to attract the customers. But in reality there lies more work beneath them..

Hope people become mature in the times to come and stop writing such bogus headings..

You're right, Karan. It's snake oil. Some people want that. They want to believe in easy riches. Wealth without work!

To make money, we must create and exchange value. So, you do it yourself...or part with some moolah, to have it done for you. Even outsourcing does not free one from work -- it's just a different kind of work. I'm also suspicious of terms like ''passive income'' and ''completely on auto-pilot''.

    Impossible.

As an affiliate marketer, I believe I have a form of passive income. But it takes a lot of hard work in the beginning. Then you can just sit back and relax!

Karan, it sounds like you're keeping it honest. You could make a lot from fake news landers and other false claims. I like that you haven't dropped to that level. Also, it sounds like you are learning the biz. Find some offers that people really want and you will find success. Still, not many people know about the affiliate game. There is a lot of money to be made.

The chances of getting rich with no work is less than the chances of winning a lottery.

So, let's see the possible cases for getting rich without any work:

    1. You could find $1 million while walking on the street and figure out that it doesn't belong to anyone.
    2. You could inherit $1 million from an uncle of yours that you have never heard of before.
    3. Somebody just donates you $1 million for nothing in return.

All the above cases are possible but that doesn't mean they have a high probability to occur.

And online, no work = no money. Run away whenever you see anything that claims the opposite.

no, not possible. read the 4 hour work week, that is as close as it gets and Tim is super OCD - most people could never systemise to that level. Plus he worked HEAPS to get things off the ground.

I suppose you would have to define 'work'. If I got to do what I love every day then am I 'working'? I've had jobs that seriously felt like I was getting paid to have fun. I've had jobs that I hated which definately felt like 'work'.

When your sat at your computer, in your warm house, sipping on a cold one thing how hard your life is having to create all those back links, unique content, ebooks etc then remind yourself that what your doing is in no way 'work', because you could be in a factory packing boxes for a living and that really would suck!

But generally, as a rule of thumb, if a product tells you it'll be easy, its more than likely bullsh*t

Of course, you can eventually get to the stage where very little, or even no, work is required on a daily basis (this goes for online and offline) in order to run a successful business. However, I would hazard a guess that a huge amount of effort, a lot of sweat and tears, long working days, and possible sleepless nights preceded this.

Unless money simply "falls into your lap", you must expect to complete a certain amount of work before the results follow.

As for WSO headlines, well this is simply about how to market to specific niche of customers or client base. Personally, I say if someone believes that they can achieve success without an ounce of hard work...more fool them! However, I am still amazed by the number of people who come into an online career with a sense of self entitlement, or the belief that there is some type of "push button system".

You wouldn't walk into a board meeting with Donald Trump and his directors and demand that they drop everything and spend some time teaching you how to become a billionaire, simply because you want to know how it's done. No, you would spend time studying, researching, taking action, and focusing on educational resources that can help you achieve your dream. Sure, we all need a push in the right direction sometimes, but there's a right way to do it...manners and etiquette cost nothing, same as they don't offline!

As long as there are people who believe that working online is a gateway to riches without having to do anything, there will continue to be products, WSOs, etc. that claim this is indeed possible. This simply is a lack of common sense more than anything else.

"Common sense is the knack of seeing things as they are, and doing things as they ought to be done." - C.E. Stowe

Sure. Practically, it can be done.

What's the catch? You must have capital.

    Then get into SEO.

Hire a bunch of writers to write content for you.

Hire another bunch of people (can be writers too) and have them do the backlinking for you.

There you go. An autopilot money making machine.
