Hia guys
Was wondering if you could help me. I bought a domain off godaddy and hosting from hostable.com ( 1$ for 3 years), basically i just wanted to get my site up and running. I switched the nameservers of godaddy, and they are now pointing at hostable, and where it says add hosting, i put the server and IP address of hostable, what else do i have to do now? When i try and go on my website the "Oops, google chrome could not find ecc.." comes up.

Thanks in advance

have you transferred the website files over from your old host to your hostable account? Also it can take a nameserver change up to 48 hours to propogate throughout the internet so that may also be causing the issue you're having.

    Hope that helps.

yeah propagation can take up to 48 hours... If you still have problem after that waiting period contact your host... you'll get more info over there and save a bunch of time...

    Cheers

Use a whois site to find out if the name servers have changed.

If they have and you are still unable to get your site up and running then contact your host.

Maybe I'm a little confused but where are you adding the servername and ip? If you're pointing the DNS on GoDaddy to hostable the hostable name server should be taking care of name resolution for your domain.

I've never used hostable but do they use cpanel? Have you associated the domain in question with your account there and uploaded some sort of files to a folder on their server?

I don't believe in free "UNLIMITED" hosting (setup fee $0.99) for 3 years... sorry. For me that's the real problem.

Next, here you have all the instructions:
Transfer Your Website to Hostable. An Easy Step-By-Step Guide.

Are you trying to use option A or B or C?

I agree with Istvan. Unfortunately, you pretty much get what you pay for when it comes to hosting. The one I use and trust is JustHost for unlimited hosting for under $4/month. Be sure to try to "leave" the page where you see the "final pricing" and you'll get a 50% off offer!
If that doesn't work, you can also try using coupon code: 50OFF

      Good luck.

Wow! Just checked out JustHost and that is a deal. That's half of what I'm paying at Hostso for the unlimited package.

I completely agree with "Istvan". Get an other hosting.
I understand you may have a budget but, there's all kind of hosting
starting around $4.00 That along will save a lot of problems.

Have you created your add-on domain in your hostable cPanel? If not, do that now.

      Added nameservers into Godaddy? Check.

Add hosting? Nope, they are trying to get you to buy your hosting through Godaddy instead of Hostable, so take that info out and Save it.

Wait a few minutes, then try to access your site again.

I've been using Godaddy for years, and I've never had to wait more than a minute or 2 for propagation.

If you've already put your files onto your server, the site should now load.

If you haven't put your files up yet, then you will get a message about Apache server configuration (or whatever they happen to use, Apache being most common).

If you've done all this, and still not getting anything, post back with the message(s) you are receiving.

You're just singing the Propagation Blues, I know it's agonizingly slow and can take up to 72 hours. Also, SE's hate the type of host you got, it didn't use to be that way like 15 years ago, someone could build a site using Geocities and get it ranked in a month, not anymore, blackhatters have abused those free hosts and still do. Get a paid host, do yourself that favor! I pay $16 per month for my hosting package, I'm not saying you should pay that much but at least start with a "baby" plan and work your way up, later on, once you start getting lots of traffic, like 1,000 per day then you will need the extra speed and bandwidth.

Yes..its propagation time..so relax it takes some time. If you want it to be faster i often use open DNS. But just wait a little longer..
