Go to forums related to dogs, and post helpful tips. Have a link to your site in your signature.

Then search for yahoo answer questions related to your niche. Post really really REALLY good long answers, and at the end put:

"also, this site may be helpful for you." and link to your site.

Lastly, if you can get $80 together there is a Warrior here who offers a service guaranteeing you a page 1 google ranking. I'd invest in that.

    Good luck.

Write some articles and submit to relevant ezine publishers. They are always looking for content for their subscribers, and you will be be getting free advertising. Search in any search engine "ezines: dog training" or substitute with a few other key words or phrases. I have found this technique draws highly targeted traffic even in some of the most competitive niches such as yours.

Your in a very highly competitive market with dog training,I would start with going after the less competitive long tail keywords first, post articles on those keywords to get the traffic coming in to your site.

Try to insert some additional keyword (all below are less competitive):

    - dog training club : 14,800 searcher / $1.31 CPC
    - dog training secrets : 5,400 searcher / $1.55 CPC
    - dog training how to : 22,200 searcher / $1.39 CPC
    - dog training puppies : 6,600 searcher / $1.57 CPC
    - dog training review : 9,900 searcher / $1.08 CPC
    - dog training techniques : 1,900 searcher / $1.31 CPC

ust write some articles about that topic with that keywords, and submit them in to articles directories. don't forget to follow article SEO rules: keyword density, give bold for the keyword, etc.

If you have some money for $5 you could also just buy xrumer services at fiverr. (assumed you have 5-6 month old for the domain). it would help your site position in the google. perhaps in the first page with less competition for the keywords.

Make some account at facebook or twitter also a very good idea to generate traffic.

Perhaps this little opinion could help..

So, do you mean, new domain (less than 5 month old) should not be using xrumer? Can you explain why?

Definitely niche it down a bit (cover a certain aspect of dog training instead of dog training in general).

        So maybe..

Dog training for ______ (a certain breed of dog)

        Dog training for female dogs

Dog training for dogs with hip displasia

Dog training for previously abused dogs

        Dog training for "untrainable" dogs

        ...and so on.

Usually once you do this, you will find that it will open up a few ideas as to where to get your free traffic because your new, more specified niche will be far less saturated.

        Good Luck!

        Hi,

Simple! Here are a couple of suggestions...

If your website is a blog, fine. If not, set up a blogger blog.

1/ In either case, set your blog up to post once a day.

This can be accomplished in Wordpress with WP-AutoPoster (a paid plugin) or with Blogger your posts can be scheduled automatically...

2/ Set up a Twitter and Facebook account.

3/ Set up an account at Twitterfeed.

4/ Enter the RSS feed from your blog to this account. Set it up for both your Twitter and Facebook account.

With this you accomplish a couple of things. Each day when a post is added automatically to your site it will be posted to both Twitter and Facebook.

You get backlinks to your site along with the added benefit that people can click on your links from your Twitter and Facebook accounts.

You'll start see traffic within a couple of days.

        Method #2:

1/ Make about 5 powerpoint presentations about your subject.

2/ Turn them into videos with either Camtasia or Windows Movie Maker or CamStudio (whatever you can afford, CamStudio is free).

3/ Post the videos to YouTube (create a channel specifically about your niche).

4/ Have the url in your description pointing to your site.

5/ Use Tube Toolbox ($30 down, $10 per month) to gather a list...
(For complete instructions watch this video:
YouTube - YouTube Marketing Traffic Formula )

This method works extremely well. I had a list of ultra targeted users of around 200 after a month. My open rate on my emails is like 40%.

        Best of luck,

        Scott

Perform SEO on your pages for appropriate keywords. You'll basically want to identify what search terms you want to rank for and then proceed to build links around the web with similar anchor text pointing to your website.

A good starting point would be putting your url in this form:

    Code:
    your keyword
in your signature on this forum.

As your traffic grows it is worth bearing in mind that it is a good policy to
try and get your visitors to come back to your site.

One of the reasons is that visitors often only purchase from a site once they have been to it 3 or 4 times.

It would be a good idea to offer something free, such as an ebook with soome dog training tips that you could probably produce yourself or pay a little money for someone else to.

Then you could sign up with Aweber for an autoresponder and offer your free book once people sign up to receive free dog care tips (you could produce).

Then you will build a nice list of contacts who you can sell to again and again!

    Hope this helps

To get traffic the best methods comes to everyone minds is seo. It is the best way to optimize your site to get free traffic.

  • Probably the best source of traffic if you are after it being free is parasite marketing.

This involves creating free content for other more dominant websites in exchange for traffic.

1.) Use a tool like market samurai, find the keywords that people in your niche look for. Use the keyword tool function and type in you broad topic keyword and see what comes up. Organise the new keywords so that the one with the most searches is at the topic and start creating 10 articles based around popular keywords from the list.

Just make sure your keywords look like they could attract buying customers.

2.) After you have your 10 articles, submit them all to places like ezine articles and goarticles.com.

3.) Create a generalised article that could be used as an introduction to the area your website covers. Think about what would interest your potential visitor and create the article based on this.

4.) Using the article in step 3, create your own squidoo lense with the link to your site subtley placed at the bottom

5.) Using the article in step 3, create your own weebly website with the link to your website subtley placed at the bottom

6.) Using the article in step 3, create your own blogger.com blog with the link placed at the bottom.

7.) Visit popular niche specific forums and be VERY informative and helpful to the users. Aim to build a reputation with them, not to spam.

8.) Finally, create your own youtube channel with regular videos about the topic of your website. Do not reveal too much information, instead plant some "seeds of curiousity" causing the visitor to click through to your website. Aim for the video to be entertaining more than informative

There you go, that is parasite marketing 101. That information is golden in the I.M. world and covers the fundementals of free traffic!!!

    Enjoy = )
