An Idea for the Forum = WF Directory!!

Hello brethen

Just an idea which I cunningly stole from my sisters living room....

Why not make a WF Directory, something similar to the "Yellow Pages", where Warrior's can pay a small fee to be listed, and everything can be nicely set out so that clients can easily get in to contact with people who match the skillsets they require; be it: Minisite/eCover/Graphic Designer, Sales Copy Writer, Article Writer, Online Assistant, Coders/Scripters etc.

In all honesty I am certain that this idea has been thought up before no doubt - but I can't see it being anything less than a complete success for Warrior Members, for both Professionals and Clients - everybody will benefit, including the Forum owner (Allen I believe).


So what do you think?

Is it a good idea? Do you want it? Shall we "make this happen"? or am I a complete and utter fool who is missing something major here?

    I don't think it's a foolish idea, but one that I personally don't see a need for, either.

    Why not?

    Because we already have a de facto directory in the form of the posts people make. We get to know who people are, and what services they offer, then take it from there.

    We can also list things in our profile, have sig links, run WSOs, post classified ads, or go to the Warriors For Hire section.

    In combination, all of those things work better than a directory ever could.

    I find this forum relies heavily on relationships, reputations, and recommendations. After only a short time on this forum you quickly start to learn who is good at what and where to go when you need something done.

    If I were really stuck then I'd just ask a couple of other Warriors for recommendations or just use the search box to find those matching service threads that are popular.
