Guru or Spammer: Who is this guy?
I recently received this email response regarding a post I was running on Backpage with RE: Your Ad On Backpage...in the subject line:
Hey-
I saw your ad here on Backpage
I was wondering if you post on here very often because I do a lot
of marketing on here and I'm always looking to network with other
marketers.
Maybe we can help each other.
Here's a link to one of my more famous Craigslist marketing tactics
(famous because it doesn't involve placing any ads).

Tell me what you think and if you have any strategies that
are working for you on Backpage I'd love to hear about them.

Just so you know, I HAVE NOT added you to any email list, so you will never

Upon investigating further I was presented with a rather lengthy set of instructional videos detailing exactly how to scrape email address from craigslist and backpage just as had been done with my ad. "Shannon Hansen" then goes on to explain that craigslist is the worlds largest database of people to market to. All you have to do is buy his scraper software and you will have an endless supply of email addresses to apparently market clickbank products to.
This of course begs at least two questions:
1] If your methods are so great and lucrative why share them?
2] How is this not spamming?
I responded to the email attempting to get answers to these questions only to be met with:
Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender
So just who is this "Shannon Hansen" guy? I have found zilch on him through google other than he has written some articles he's submitted and he also promotes a help for ebayers program. I was also surprised that a search of his name on this forum turned up nada as well.
Has anyone tried these methods? Any other info on this guy?
